Le Groupe Timing and Communication (TCG) de Microchip recherche un Ingénieur principal du personnel technique – Conception analogique pour assurer le leadership technique et l’orientation architecturale dans le développement d’IP analogiques et mixtes avancées destinées aux solutions de synchronisation de prochaine génération. 
Ce poste s’adresse à un concepteur analogique expérimenté possédant une expertise technique approfondie, une forte capacité de réflexion au niveau système et une aptitude démontrée à guider des équipes de conception à travers des défis complexes en circuits mixtes. Le rôle combine une contribution technique directe avec des responsabilités de leadership technique et de mentorat. 

Responsabilités techniques et de leadership clés 

Propriété architecturale 

•    Définir l’architecture, les spécifications et les méthodologies de conception pour des IP analogiques haute performance, incluant PLL, DLL, ADC, DAC, filtres, interfaces E/S haute vitesse et circuits associés utilisés dans les produits TCG.
•    Piloter l’architecture système mixte au niveau supérieur afin d’assurer une intégration robuste des IP analogiques dans des environnements SoC complexes.
•    Influencer l’orientation à long terme des IP analogiques et contribuer aux discussions sur la feuille de route produit.

Leadership technique

•    Fournir un encadrement technique de haut niveau aux équipes de conception analogique via des revues de conception, des stratégies de modélisation, des méthodologies de simulation et la mise en route du silicium.
•    Servir de ressource technique et de mentor pour les concepteurs juniors et intermédiaires, en soutenant des décisions de conception solides et le développement des compétences.
•    Influencer les compromis de conception, les approches de vérification et les stratégies de modélisation à travers plusieurs projets.

Contribution technique pratique

Diriger la conception au niveau transistor et les simulations avancées sur les variations de procédés et conditions de fonctionnement.

•    Développer et revoir des modèles comportementaux et Verilog-A pour soutenir une simulation efficace des SoC mixtes.
•    Guider la validation silicium, la caractérisation, la planification des tests et l’évaluation en laboratoire au niveau système.

Collaboration interfonctionnelle

•    Collaborer étroitement avec les architectes, les concepteurs numériques et mixtes, les équipes de layout, les ingénieurs produit et les groupes d’ingénierie multi-sites.
•    Soutenir la réussite du silicium au premier passage grâce à une exécution disciplinée de la conception et une coordination efficace entre équipes.

Position Overview 

Microchip’s Timing and Communication Group (TCG) is seeking a Senior Technical Staff Engineer – Analog Design to provide technical leadership and architectural direction across the development of advanced analog and mixed-signal IP for next-generation timing solutions. 
This role is designed for a highly experienced industry analog designer with deep technical expertise, strong system-level thinking, and a proven ability to guide design teams through complex mixed-signal challenges. The position combines hands-on technical contribution with technical leadership and mentoring responsibilities. 

Key Technical & Leadership Responsibilities 

Architectural Ownership 

•    Define architecture, specifications, and design methodologies for high-performance analog IP, including PLLs, DLLs, ADCs, DACs, filters, high-speed I/O interfaces, and related circuits used in TCG products
•    Drive top-level mixed-signal system architecture to ensure robust integration of analog IP within complex SoC environments
•    Influence long-term analog IP direction and contribute to product roadmap discussions

Technical Leadership
•    Provide senior-level technical guidance to analog design teams through design reviews, modeling strategy, simulation methodology, and silicon bring-up
•    Serve as a technical resource and mentor for junior and mid-level designers, supporting ound design decisions and skill development

•    Influence design trade-offs, verification approaches, and modeling strategies across multiple projects

Hands-On Technical Contribution
•    Lead transistor-level design and advanced simulations across process corners and operating conditions
•    Develop and review behavioral and Verilog-A models to support efficient mixed-signal SoC simulation
•    Guide silicon validation, characterization, test planning, and system-level laboratory evaluation

Cross-Functional Collaboration
•    Partner closely with architects, digital and mixed-signal designers, layout teams, product engineers, and multi-site engineering groups
•    Support first-pass silicon success through disciplined design execution and cross-team coordination

Requirements/Qualifications:

Qualifications requises

•    Master ou Doctorat en génie électrique ou dans un domaine étroitement lié.
•    Plus de 10 ans d’expérience industrielle en conception de circuits intégrés analogiques et mixtes.
•    Expérience avérée dans la conception de circuits analogiques et haute vitesse tels que PLL/DLL, ADC/DAC, filtres et interfaces E/S haute vitesse.
•    Solides bases en physique des dispositifs, théorie des circuits et conception tenant compte du layout.
•    Expérience approfondie des outils et flux de conception Cadence IC.
•    Pratique des langages de script et de l’automatisation (par ex. Skill, Python, Perl, Tcl).

Excellentes compétences en communication et expérience de travail efficace au sein d’équipes d’ingénierie multi-sites.

Expérience additionnelle valorisée 
Bien que non obligatoire, l’expérience suivante peut renforcer l’efficacité dans ce rôle 

•    Études ou recherches avancées en conception analogique ou mixte renforçant la compréhension système ou les approches de modélisation.
•    Expérience dans l’application de concepts de recherche à du silicium prêt pour la production.
•    Expertise en conception et architecture de systèmes mixtes au niveau système.
•    Maîtrise avancée de Verilog-A pour le modélisation comportementale analogique.
•    Expérience en mise sous tension du silicium, débogage et caractérisation en laboratoire.
•    Exposition aux circuits d’interface analogiques pour MEMS.

Required Qualifications
• Master’s degree or Doctorate in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
• 10+ years of industry experience in analog and mixed-signal IC design
• Proven experience designing high-speed and analog circuits such as PLLs/DLLs, ADCs/DACs, filters, and high-speed I/O
• Strong fundamentals in device physics, circuit theory, and layout-aware design
• Extensive experience with Cadence IC design tools and flows
• Hands-on experience with scripting and automation (e.g., Skill, Python, Perl, Tcl)
• Strong communication skills and experience working effectively in multi-site engineering teams

While not required, the following experiences may enhance effectiveness in this role:
• Advanced academic study or research in analog or mixed-signal design that strengthens system-level insight or modeling approaches
• Experience applying research concepts to practical, production-ready silicon
• Expertise in mixed-signal system-level design and architecture
• Strong proficiency in Verilog-A for analog behavioral modeling
• Experience with silicon bring-up, debug, and characterization in lab environments
• Exposure to MEMS analog interface circuits
