This Position reports to:

Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to improving Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) performance in your assigned area of responsibility to cultivate a high-performance culture with a strong focus on HSE. Each day, you will support the business by applying in-depth HSE knowledge and offering solutions and advice. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring effective risk management through HSE excellence along the ABB value chain.
The work model for the role is: On site
You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Facilitate the identification and assessment of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) risks within the ReliaGear manufacturing environment and ensure that appropriate preventive measures are implemented.
  • Lead and support investigations of incidents, accidents, and near misses; communicate findings and lessons learned to stakeholders and employees.
  • Contribute to HSE projects and/or plan and execute them.
  • Actively collaborate with the Health and Safety Committee (HSC) and union representatives to fulfill legal obligations in a unionized workplace.
  • Develop, implement, and deliver HSE training, prevention, and continuous improvement programs tailored to the manufacturing environment.
  • Support supervisors and management in understanding their legal responsibilities and promote positive safety behavior changes.
  • Monitor HSE Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), prepare tracking reports, and contribute to achieving site and corporate objectives.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments of workstations and recommend corrective measures to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs)

Qualifications for the role
  • You are proactive and responsible, with solid organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities effectively
  • You are creative and resourceful, with a talent for designing and implementing HSE activities that increase participation, awareness, and compliance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; a professional designation is considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in a unionized workplace in Quebec.
  • In-depth knowledge of Quebec occupational health and safety laws and regulations (LSST, RSST), as well as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards (An asset).
  • Excellent communication skills in French (spoken and written); functional proficiency in English is an asset for ABB corporate communications.
  • Knowledge of workplace ergonomics and experience with musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) risk assessment tools are considered an asset.
