Game Engine QA 

With multiple awards to our name, Larian Studios has proven that we’re dedicated to delivering high-quality role-playing games As we move on to new projects, the studio that brought you Baldur’s Gate 3 & Divinity: Original Sin 2 is looking for a Game Engine QA to join the team and help us in crafting the high calibre games our fans have come to expect.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all kinds of manual testing
  • Closely assist the programming team with testing specific changes before code is submitted to the main developer branches
  • Write new and maintain existing automated tests (Python/Pytest and Lua)
  • Follow priorities set by the QA Lead to ensure team-wide goals are met
  • Test and help improve our production pipelines and tools
  • Act as the first point of contact for the production team on technical issues
Requirements: 
  • Experience in programming and/or scripting
  • Familiarity working with game engines
  • Background using Perforce or other version control systems
  • Good judgment in estimating the significance and consequences of bugs
  • A rigorous, methodical, and resourceful approach to your work
  • Self-disciplined, with strong self-learning skills
  • Good communication skills, spoken and written, in English
  • Passion for video games
  • Desire to build a long-term career in QA
Nice To Haves 
  • Prior experience in QA is a big plus
  • Knowledge of JIRA and Jenkins
  • Familiarity with the RPG genre

 Responsabilités

  • Effectuer toutes sortes de tests manuels
  • Assister de près l’équipe de programmation en testant des changements précis avant que le code ne soit soumis aux principales branches de développement
  • Rédiger de nouveaux tests automatisés et maintenir les tests existants (Python/Pytest et Lua)
  • Respecter les priorités définies par le responsable du contrôle qualité pour veiller à ce que l’équipe atteigne ses objectifs
  • Tester nos processus et nos outils de production, et participer à leur amélioration
  • Être le premier interlocuteur de l’équipe de production concernant les problèmes techniques

Profil recherché

  • Expérience en matière de programmation et/ou de script
  • Maîtrise des moteurs de jeu
  • Expérience avec Perforce ou d’autres systèmes de gestion de version
  • Capacité à estimer l’importance et l’impact des différents bogues
  • Éthique de travail rigoureuse, méthodique et ingénieuse
  • Autodiscipline et solides capacités d’autoformation
  • Bonnes compétences orales et écrites en anglais
  • Réelle passion pour les jeux vidéo
  • Volonté de développer une carrière durable dans le contrôle qualité

Compétences appréciées

  • Une expérience précédente en contrôle qualité serait appréciée
  • Connaissance de JIRA et de Jenkins
  • Bonne connaissance du genre JDR
