This Position reports to:

Finance Manager BL Emergency Lighting
 

As a Finance Manager, you will act as a business partner to the North America Emergency Lighting P&L leader and lead the local finance team to optimize financial performance. Each day, you will support effective business decisions by monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting financial data to evaluate various business alternatives. You will also showcase your expertise by recommending the most appropriate business solutions.
The work model for the role is hybrid, with 3 days per week at the office in Dorval.
This role is contributing to the Emergency Lighting business in North America and is responsible for finance activities related to commercial, manufacturing, product management, and R&D areas. Main stakeholders are North America and the global management of the Emergency business line.
You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Strategy: Contributes to the definition of the strategy for the product group in the North America region. Partners with relevant business leaders in determining strategy for the area of responsibility and developing an implementation and monitoring plan.
  • Business planning and forecasting: Enables strategy translation into business plans and monitors measurable targets. Drives the business planning and forecasting process. Evaluates financial implications of various strategic decisions, builds scenarios, and recommends actions
  • Business performance and optimization: Monitors progress achieved and provides insight and analysis to support operational decision-making. Identifies issues and advises management on action plans and operational strategies to resolve. Drives appropriate cost structure, productivity optimization, and capital efficiency. Manages and closely monitors the cash flow and takes action to improve Net Working Capital. Leads cross-functional initiatives that support strategic goals.
  • Accounting and reporting: Drives complete, accurate, and timely completion of accounting activities for the business line in the US and Canada legal entities. Oversees and reviews the month-end close process, including account reconciliation, preparation of journal entries, and leads the balance sheet review. Secures transparency in financial reporting and disclosures.
  • Internal controls and compliance: Defines and implements internal controls regarding financial and non-financial operations. Ensures compliance with standards, regulations, and guidelines. Assesses business risk exposure and defines risk mitigation strategies to reduce impact on business performance.
  • Leading a team of 4 covering commercial, manufacturing, R&D, and FP&A finance roles.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business. CPA/CMA valid in Quebec is a plus.
  • 8+ years of experience in a similar role preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with computerized accounting systems and financial reporting software.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and business partnering skills with senior leadership
  • Outstanding attention to detail, accuracy and ability to prioritize.
