About Us

Dyson is a global company with market leading products in Floorcare, Haircare and Environmental product categories. We have ambition and plan to enter new areas and continue our rapid growth. The Group Finance team provides Dyson with overall financial planning, reporting & analysis capabilities, owns the systems that support these activities across the Dyson Group and provides finance business partnering to Group Functions like Global IT and Estates. The team acts as a business partner to Dyson’s executive leadership, enabling them to plan and take action to support Dyson’s Double Dyson 2026 strategic target.


About The Team

Category finance teams work as finance business partners for Category leadership. We support development and delivery of Dyson’s financial plans by providing financial decision support throughout the product lifecycle: design-development-launch-sale-end of life. This involves product focussed commercial financial planning and analysis, the management of business cases for Research, Design & Development (RDD) projects, and planning and control of Category RDD & Operations budgets.


We are an adaptable team that provides key financial insights to the wider business, reacting to the needs and requirements as they evolve. The team translates often complex commercial objectives and engineering challenges into a business case format, accounting for all relevant information. The magic begins when we communicate these often-complex models back to the relevant business stakeholders in an easily understandable language.  This role will cover financial planning and reporting of Floorcare performance and driving category performance by analysing product profitability data to influence future and in life ranges.

This role will report into the Head of Category Finance.


About The Role

The Finance Manager – Floor Care Category is responsible for providing financial partnership and analytical support to enable informed decision-making across product development, commercialisation and operations.  The position works collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including RDD (Research, Design & Development), operations, and commercial teams, ensuring performance tracking and alignment with agreed plans and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy & Performance Management

  • Support the management of Floor Care Category P&L, tracking results against budget /forecast

  • Deliver clear financial analysis and insights to support decision‑making by Category and Finance leadership

  • Prepare, analyse and report financial and non‑financial performance measures in line with established frameworks.

  • Benchmark performance across categories and markets, identifying key insights, risks and opportunities for escalation.

  • Collaborate with Brand Building Investment (BBI) teams to evaluate and maximize ROI on marketing and promotional activities.

  • Support the preparation of monthly Product Delivery meetings, Executive Category reviews and Board reviews as required

Business & Strategic planning

  • Support development of the Category 5-year plan through financial modelling, volume forecasting and forecast analysis.

  • Provide financial analysis to inform portfolio discussions, market prioritisation and investment trade-offs

  • Support resource allocation through investment analysis and business case evaluation.

SSPs / Pricing Governance/Pricing Operations

  • Support pricing, ranging and promotional discussions through robust financial analysis and scenario modelling

  • Ensure SSPs inputs are complete, accurate and are approved in line with company policies and properly documented

  • Execute operational pricing activities including – Exco Pricing Approval materials; Pricing set up for NPDs and new SKUs within existing range; and Ad hoc market SSP reset requests

  • Execute quarterly FX-driven repricing for impacted markets, collaborating closely with cross functional teams

Product Lifecycle Management

  • Provide financial support and analysis across product lifecycle phases, including investment appraisals, SKU rationalisation, range transitions, and product end-of-life assessments

  • Perform post-investment reviews and track milestones against approved business cases, highlighting variances and learnings.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Leverage global reporting tools to deliver accurate data, KPIs, and analysis for category performance across financial and non-financial metrics.

  • Deliver clear, actionable insights on market performance benchmarking and category health to support senior leadership decisions

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

  • Partner with RDD, operations, and commercial teams to align functional priorities with financial goals.

  • Prepare financial inputs and analysis to support category reviews and senior stakeholders’ discussions

  • Actively contribute to cross-functional collaboration and alignment

Leadership & Team Development

  • Provide day-to-day guidance and support to analysts and junior team members as required

  • Work collaboratively to drive best practices and improve ways of working

About You:
  • Qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with solid post-qualification experience (10 years) in commercial finance roles.

  • Strong commercial finance experience with exposure to strategic and long-range financial analysis.

  • Experienced in financial accounting, reporting, forecasting, and full P&L performance analysis.

  • Previous experience working in cross-functional teams including marketing, operations, and product development.

  • Strong analytical capabilities and able to translate data into actionable insights

  • Ability to distil complex financial data into clear narratives for non-financial stakeholders

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to confidence engaging senior stakeholders

  • Solid understanding of investment appraisal, demand and capacity planning, and ROI evaluation.
