Within the Strategic Growth & Performance team, you will play a key role in evaluating merger and acquisition (M&A) opportunities and updating essential financial analysis tools. You will help prepare clear and well‑structured investment summaries while supporting transaction‑related activities through research, opportunity pipeline tracking, and financial model maintenance.
Responsibilities
Help update and maintain the valuation model by adjusting inputs, refreshing assumptions, and running simple scenario analyses.
Check model accuracy by reviewing links, reconciling numbers, and flagging inconsistencies.
Prepare short, clear one‑page summaries for potential opportunities, highlighting key facts, strategic rationale, financial context, and risks.
Research companies, industries, and market trends to support deal evaluation and broader strategic insights.
Build basic comparable sets and track valuation benchmarks.
Keep the deal pipeline organized by updating statuses, adding notes, and supporting action tracking.
Assist with meeting preparation, including drafting agendas, organizing documents, and capturing follow-ups.
Create simple tools, templates, or trackers to support team workflows.
Help with periodic internal reporting on pipeline activity and key themes.
The role involves daily (or regular) communication with pan-Canadian stakeholders.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in finance, Business or a related field.
Excel skills (model navigation, sensitivities, financial statements) and comfort with PowerPoint and Word.
Ability to synthesize imperfect information into clear, structured summaries.
High attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and ability to deliver under tight timelines.
Interest in logistics
Exposure to valuation (DCF, comparables), M&A processes, or accounting fundamentals.
