Job Description

The opportunity:

Reporting to the Fabric Manager, the Fabric Assistant is responsible for ensuring that all fabrics are accessible and organized so the information is readily and easily available. The Fabric Assistant will work closely with the Fabric Manager and assist in fabric research, reviewing test reports, tracking, and filing.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, send out and receive various parcels to support the fabric department;
  • Communicates daily through emails with external and internal partners regarding fabric inquiries;
  • Assists on a seasonal basis any new fabric investigation swatches, enters information in document;
  • Manages Fabric Test reports for each fabric; obtain and review to ensure results meet RCL standards;
  • Creates Corporate Material ID in Flex ( Product Life Management System) once fabric is adopted;  
  • Organizes and maintains the fabric filing system of adopted Fabrics;
  • Maintains seasonally the Fabric library collection for easy viewing and selection;
  • Prepares document of seasonal analysis and comparisons of fabrics researched and booked.

Qualifications

Requirements:        

  • College degree in Fashion Merchandising or equivalent;
  • Minimum of 1 year related experience;
  • Strong organizational and communication skills;
  • Ability to act as liaison between multiple banners and departments;
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office suite, knowledge of Flex is an asset;
  • Bilingual to partner with vendors outside of Quebec
