Job summary

Valiantys is looking for an Engagement Director to lead strategic, IT services-led client engagements. This role owns the executive relationship, business outcomes, and long-term value strategy for a portfolio of accounts. You will work with clients to understand their goals, frame business problems, shape solution roadmaps, and ensure engagements deliver measurable value over time.

This is not a day-to-day project management role. Delivery leaders and project managers run execution cadence, delivery planning, and operational controls. Account Executives own commercials and closing. The Engagement Director brings the strategic layer: executive alignment, advisory leadership, outcome governance, escalation ownership, and growth-oriented partnership.

What you’ll be working on

  • Own executive stakeholder relationships and act as a trusted advisor to senior client leaders.
  • Build and maintain account strategies tied to measurable business outcomes.
  • Lead discovery and advisory workshops, including problem framing, value stream mapping, OKR definition, DevEx, SDLC, ITSM modernization, and operating model discussions.
  • Translate client needs into clear narratives covering current state, target outcomes, roadmap, solution approach, risks, adoption needs, and value hypotheses.
  • Partner with Account Executives on opportunity shaping, account planning, growth strategy, renewal, expansion, and executive positioning.
  • Orchestrate the right delivery squads and subject matter experts, including solution architects, enterprise architects, change/adoption specialists, and reporting or data experts.
  • Govern delivery outcomes through steering committees, executive check-ins, strategic risk management, escalation leadership, and outcome tracking.
  • Stay engaged through key moments in the client lifecycle, including pre-sales, kickoff, discovery, solution design, delivery quality checkpoints, escalations, close-out, and renewal or expansion discussions.
  • Track engagement outcomes, benefits, and success metrics with clients and internal teams.
  • Maintain strategic visibility into engagement margin, cost, and consumption risks, and work with delivery and commercial teams to address issues early.
  • Identify and shape change-order or expansion opportunities in partnership with delivery and commercial teams.
  • Ensure knowledge is captured from engagements, including lessons learned, reusable assets, case studies, reference architectures, and value proof points.
  • Co-create repeatable IT services offers and playbooks that strengthen Valiantys' advisory and delivery capabilities.

What success looks like

  • Clients align around clear business outcomes, roadmap milestones, and measurable success criteria.
  • Executive relationships deepen across business and technology stakeholders.
  • Delivery teams stay aligned to client outcomes and are unblocked when strategic risks or escalations arise.
  • Advisory workshops and strategic engagement activities influence opportunity quality, expansion, and long-term client value.
  • Engagements produce reusable IP, playbooks, case studies, and proof points that improve future delivery.
  • Clients leave each engagement with a clear understanding of value delivered, next steps, and opportunities for continued partnership.
  •
Do you have what it takes to be our new Engagement Director?

  • 5+ years of experience leading strategic client engagements in IT services, consulting, enterprise software, digital transformation, or a related field.
  • Strong executive presence and the ability to build trust with senior business and technology stakeholders.
  • A consultative approach to problem framing, discovery, roadmap creation, and value realization.
  • Ability to connect business outcomes with technical delivery, operating model change, adoption, and measurable impact.
  • Experience partnering with sales, delivery, project management, solution architecture, and technical teams.
  • Strong facilitation skills, including the ability to run discovery sessions, executive workshops, steering committees, and outcome reviews.
  • Comfort operating across the full engagement lifecycle, from pre-sales and opportunity shaping through delivery governance, escalation, close-out, and expansion.
  • Strong judgment around delivery risk, client expectations, scope boundaries, and executive communication.
  • Ability to turn client work into repeatable assets, offers, playbooks, and reference stories.
  •  Preferred experience
  • Experience in Atlassian, ITSM, DevEx, SDLC modernization, enterprise service management, cloud, data/reporting, or digital workplace transformation.
  • Experience building business cases, adoption strategies, value measurement plans, or multi-year transformation roadmaps.
  • Experience working in a services organization where delivery, sales, and advisory teams collaborate closely.

How this role works with others

  • Account Executives own pricing, commercials, SOW finalization, and closing. The Engagement Director partners with them on the solution storyline, value hypothesis, account strategy, and executive pitch.
  • Delivery leadership owns staffing and day-to-day execution quality. The Engagement Director governs outcomes, senior alignment, and strategic risk.
  • Project Managers own the engagement plan, cadence, timeline, budget, RAID log, and day-to-day client communication. The Engagement Director participates at key points where executive alignment, strategic decisions, escalations, or value realization are required.
