Data Specialist, Quality Assurance

The Data Specialist is responsible for applying the overall test strategy and test plan for Data Conversion. They are responsible for applying defined best practices and testing techniques on a given project. In addition to overseeing testing activities, they review and make recommendations to continuously improve Quality Assurance processes in accordance with the business best practices. They are responsible for defining the testing strategy for the Data Conversion that will allow effective User Acceptance Testing (UAT) when the time comes.

Responsibilities

• Defines and writes automated probe requests to be implemented to ensure the quality of data conversions
• Assists the data conversion manager with questions related to conversion best practices and analysis of validation reports
• Maintains up-to-date documentation of database fields (business and/or technical description)
• Reviews and makes recommendations to continuously improve data QA processes to follow in order to ensure minimum defects and compliance with best practices
• Works collaboratively with data conversion functional owners to resolve any data quality issues and/or suggest improvements to our processes T
• akes into account lessons learned at the end of each iteration, project with the goal of improving work methods

Requirements

• Education in business administration or other related field
• 2+ years of experience in SQL data management
• Fluency in French and English both spoken and written
• Good analytical and synthesis skills
• Enjoy doing research, be curious and resourceful
• Attention to detail and quality work
• Ability to guide and positively influence project members (internal or external stakeholders)
• Ability to mentor conversion resources regarding conversion best practices
• Ability to communicate clearly (know how to simplify when necessary) and constructively with technical and non-technical people
• Ability to be a game changer, to be open to suggestions
• Good organizational skills

Nice to haves

• Knowledge in pension plans, administration or actuarial science
• Ability to work both in a team and independently
• Ability to manage a project with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of SQL database and T-SQL
• Demonstrate an interest in data analytics and ability to become familiar with tools that enable it (TSQL language, Excel, etc.)
