Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented below is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

Depending on your team assignment, here’s what you’ll do here: 

Please note: This posting is hiring for student interns for multiple different teams in IT and Lab, for both Full Stack and Back End development. In the next step in the assessment process, you'll be able to clarify which position type interests you best between IT/Lab/Full Stack or Back End***  

In the Back-End Developer Intern role, you will :   

  • Work with the development team to coordinate the development of new features and resolve issues;  

  • Learn how to design, code, and test new features of our policy management system.  

  • Discover what it's like to work as a Developer and how technological advances are changing the way insurance companies do business;  

  • Explore new ideas and learn best practices in a fun and inclusive environment;  

  • Technical skills required: Java, Spring Boot, Maven, REST & SOAP APIs, Jenkins, Git/GitHub, OpenShift, Oracle Database

 

 

In the Full-Stack Developer Intern role, you will:   

  • Participate in the development of Client Centre APIs in Java, Kotlin, and Nest;  

  • Adjust unit tests to ensure the quality of the new development;  

  • Adjust the technical documentation supporting the code;  

  • Technical skills required: Jenkins, Git/GitHub, OpenShift, Oracle Database

    back-end: Java, Spring Boot, Maven, REST & SOAP APIs, 

    front-end: Angluar, TypeScriptJenkins, Git/GitHub, OpenShift, Oracle Database

Developer Platform 

  • Work in the development teams building new features for our products Harbour (Internal Developer Platform), Mentor (Opinionated CICD Pipeline), IT-Health (Software Metrics and Analytics) and Agora (Knowledge Base and Community Engagement Platform). 

  • Support the team in triaging and fixing production issues 

  • Work with a Product Centric Team for developing, testing, and getting feedback. 

  • Freedom to bring your own ideas and solutions and following best practices in a small agile and fun team 

  • Technical Skills required: Java, GitHub  

  • Nice to have: Spring Boot, Experience Building Rest Services, API Scraping, MongoDB, AWS 

Software Engineering Claims 

  • Build impactful claims features as a key member of an agile squad, from grooming and design through delivery. 

  • Elevate the claims agent experience by refining and enhancing existing software—reducing friction, improving performance, and shipping improvements. 

  • Work with senior developers to deliver quality products end-to-end by triaging defects, prioritizing fixes, and contributing to reliable, scalable production support 

  • Learn from senior developers on software lifecycle management best practices, growing your craft across design, development, testing, deployment, and observability. 

  • Technical Skills Required: Java development 

  • Nice to Have: Agile/scrum, microservices, guidewire or P&C insurance experience 

What you bring to the table: 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a field related to software development, computer science, or anything relevant; 

  • Available to work with us full-time, 35 hours per week, for the Winter 2027 Term (January to April) 

  • Must be an active student during your internship and/or returning to school in next Summer or Fall 2027 following your internship 

  • Understand the software development lifecycle and be curious about continuous delivery pipelines and testing. 

  • Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills. 

  • Adaptability, curiosity, and commitment to continuous learning. 

  • Excellent communication skills with a passion for technology. 

  • Self-reliant with a strong sense of responsibility. 

  • Be bilingual for all Quebec roles (English and French). Need to interact regularly with colleagues across the country.
