Facilitate decision making and analysis of all types of credit information to support credit related decisions and processes for the Bank. Maintains and promotes a customer service environment to meet and exceed customer needs and expectations. Makes credit decisions and recommendations in accordance with sound credit granting principles and the Bank's standards and procedures.

  • Through analysis, identify new sales opportunities for potential and existing corporate clients.
  • Participate in customer site visits with other internal stakeholders as required.
  • Maintain and promote a customer service environment that meets and exceeds customer needs and expectations.
  • Recommend credit in accordance with sound credit granting principles.
  • Utilize its unilateral discretionary limits for corporate lending, as well as any prescribed approval limits.
  • Support the implementation of strategic initiatives, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assess customers' ability to repay loans and advise on loan structure and collateral.
  • Identify trends in customer activity that may predict deterioration in credit quality.
  • Conduct periodic credit reviews where more frequent monitoring may be appropriate.
  • Understand the typical types of borrowers in the high net worth market and their relationship to collateral ownership, loan repayment, loan structure, etc.
  • Authorize loan requests within prescribed limits, based on understanding of credit scoring and risk management concepts.
  • Monitor customer commitments within the assigned portfolio to identify deteriorating credit conditions and validate compliance with the loan agreement.
  • Provide accurate financial analysis and risk assessment of new and existing customers.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to obtain accurate and detailed customer information.
  • Develop credit information to make credit decisions on new loans, renewals and extensions.
  • Assist in negotiating terms and conditions of all decisions made through telephone and email interactions with customers.
  • Prepare summary, present facts and give opinion on creditworthiness.
  • Minimize BMO's risk exposure by adhering to internal credit policies and procedures with respect to credit decisions.
  • Provide input into the planning and implementation of operational programs.
  • Establish effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Focus primarily on one line of business or operating group within BMO; adopt a broader, enterprise-wide focus where appropriate.
  • Use judgement to identify issues, determine causes and resolve issues within established boundaries.
  • Work independently on a wide range of complex tasks, which may represent unique situations.
  • Broader duties and responsibilities may be assigned as required.

Qualifications:

  • Typically four to six years of relevant work experience with a post-secondary degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical mastery acquired through education or work experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Collaboration and teamwork skills - strong competencies.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills - strong competencies.
  • Ability to influence - advanced skills.

Salary:

$54 500,00 - $101 500,00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
