This Position reports to:

Customer Operations Director
 

As an Electrical Quotations Specialist, you will create and complete competitive bids, estimations, and quotations based on customer specifications and requirements while maximizing company margins. You will maintain strong relationships between ABB units and customers in your area of responsibility, and collect and collate all necessary technical and cost information required to prepare comprehensive proposals.

This role is contributing to the Electrification, Installation Products division of ABB and is located in Montreal.

The work model for the role is hybrid, with 2 days per week at the office.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Formulate competitive bids, estimates, and quotations by selecting the optimal product mix and balancing technical and commercial aspects for each situation.
  • Create well-documented, timely tenders with appropriate detail, including full and accurate costs, pricing, and trading conditions covering technical, financial, and project management aspects.
  • Suggest products based on customer requirements and offer alternate solutions for availability and pricing optimization.
  • Collect, collate, and archive all documentation regarding offers/orders, recording assumptions and decisions made during development.
  • Provide necessary documentation including certificates, drawings, and BOM requests.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service to resolve order challenges promptly.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Marketing and Application Engineers when necessary.
  • Report bid status regularly using defined tools and analyze reasons for won and lost tenders to provide feedback to sales and marketing.
  • Identify potential risks and triggers in bids, quotations, estimates, RFQ/Bid T&C, and contract agreements, and participate in the risk review process in accordance with ABB policy.
  • Establish and maintain effective customer relationships to understand needs and ensure a positive customer experience throughout the sales process.
  • Provide technical and commercial support to Sales teams during customer meetings.

Qualifications for the role:

  • DEP in Building Design, Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or relevant experience
  • 2-5 years experience in low or medium voltage electrical products
  • Strong knowledge of low & medium voltage electrical products.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, SAP, & ERP Platforms (an asset).
  • Experience in work with Office 365 and Excel.
  • Demonstrate a high level of initiative, and the ability to manage multiple project deadlines simultaneously with a collaborative, solution-focused and detail-oriented approach.
  • Proficiency in French is mandatory, as well as English in order to communicate effectively with internal clients and partners located outside of Quebec.
