Job responsibilities
- Lead event initiatives in the region, partnering with lines of business, marketing, and functions to develop impactful programs aligned with business strategy
- Manage the end-to-end process of event planning, including event briefs, research, approvals, invitee & speaker management, venue set-up, event design, onsite support, production management, budget management, and post-event analysis
- Manage external vendors and venues effectively on all event-related matters
- Provide support across J.P. Morgan franchise sponsorships and cross lines of business events, ensuring benefits are delivered, effectively leveraged, and flawlessly executed
- Manage and track event budgets with a focus on cost efficiency
- Adhere to internal policies and procedures regarding reporting activities, compliance regulations, approval processes, and ensuring appropriate documentation is in place
- Maintain the Events database accurately, including event metrics, budgets, invoicing, ticketing, and event collateral
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's degree in Events, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Hotel Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in event planning and management/execution
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills with the ability to confidently lead and manage events on an end-to-end basis
- Client-focused, highly organized, and process-oriented with the ability to manage multiple and competing deadlines
- Confidence to be an ambassador to internal management with the ability to forge strong relationships, interact, influence, and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and across lines of business
- Ability to work both autonomously and as a team player with proven ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and accurate manner. Effectively collaborate with team members, vendors, and internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent English oral and written communication skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and must be savvy with technology
- Periodic after-hours work will be required
- Periodic travel within the region may be required
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience working in the financial services industry
- Mandarin proficiency would be an advantage
