As the Commercial Specialist you will be responsible for new client growth and expansion of the commercial portfolio through outbound prospecting, client contact and sales activities. You will play a key role in identifying prospects in business markets, servicing clients, determining risks and presenting customized insurance solutions.  


How you will create impact:
  • Conducting inbound and outbound calls to prospect and proactively build a sales pipeline, developing marketing plans to promote insurance offerings, and contributing to the achievement of sales, profitability, and growth goals.

  • Completing risk assessments and commercial inspections in accordance with underwriting guidelines.

  • Working with clients to review goals, providing risk management advice and recommendations for coverage, completing policy updates, and documenting required changes.  

  • Conducting policy reviews to identify changing coverage requirements, responding to client inquiries, resolving complaints, and escalating issues as required.

  • Participating in events to create brand awareness and developing, maintaining, and cultivating community contacts to enhance agency visibility and maximize new business opportunities.

To join our team:
  • You have 1 year of experience in personal lines damage insurance.

  • Having a post-secondary education in a related discipline is an asset.

  • You hold a General insurance license.


What you need to know:
  • You are required to have your own vehicle, valid driver’s license and insurance.

  • You will travel regularly.

  • This role involves direct contact with clients and/or service providers in their environment.  

  • Extended work hours, including evenings and weekends, will be required.   

  • You will be subject to a Criminal Record and Consumer History background check as a condition of employment, in the event you are the successful candidate.

  • Proficiency in both English and French is essential to the main duties in this role, including servicing and communicating primarily with majority anglophone and francophone clients, groups, and teams. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.
