As the Claims Representative I you will investigate, negotiate and settle service claims including automobile, property and rudimentary commercial automobile claims for the organization. You will contribute to the organization’s client service culture through professional interactions with clients and implementing innovative and client centric solutions.


How you will create impact:
  • Interpreting and applying coverages, participating in major event responses and negotiating and settling service claims with a focus on behaviour based outcomes.
  • Communicating with clients to deliver clear messages and resolve concerns while liaising with stakeholders to ensure the efficient and timely settlement of claims.
  • Investigating and identifying opportunities for salvage and subrogation recoveries using approved guidelines and procedures.
  • Supporting the organization by sharing claims handling knowledge and feedback to key business partners on process efficiencies to enhance the client experience.
  • Providing exceptional client service in accordance with our claims service and quality standards, with the view of enabling the organization to be the industry leader in client engagement.

To join our team
  • You have one year of experience in insurance or in a related field.
  • Having a post-secondary education in insurance or a related discipline in an asset.
  • Having the Provincial Adjuster Licence (Claim Adjuster and Personal Lines Autorité des Marchés Financiers) and working towards the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation and Commercial Licence is an asset.
  • Consideration is given for students requiring internship hours for the attestation of Collegial Studies (AEC) in Damage Insurance.
  • You have experience working in a contact centre including in-depth knowledge of client service principles is an asset.
  • Having basic knowledge of insurance and insurance claims, policy wordings, the vehicle repair process, provincial legislations and regulations is an asset.
  • Proficiency in both English and French is essential to the main duties in this role, including servicing and communicating primarily with majority anglophone and francophone clients, groups, and teams. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.

Expected salary range $60,574 to $100,956

The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education. 

Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
