Business Development Representative (Outbound Sales)

Our client is a well-established Canadian distributor of medical equipment and healthcare supplies, serving healthcare organizations, first responders, government agencies, long-term care facilities, educational institutions, and other essential organizations for over 35 years. With thousands of products spanning emergency medical services, diagnostic equipment, rehabilitation, first aid, infection control, and everyday clinical supplies, the company plays a critical role in ensuring healthcare professionals have access to the equipment they need to deliver exceptional patient care.

Built on a reputation for reliability, customer service, and long-standing industry relationships, the organization has become a trusted partner to institutions across Canada. Their continued growth is driven by a commitment to delivering quality products, responsive service, and customized solutions that help customers operate more efficiently and effectively. As they continue expanding into new markets and customer segments, they're looking to invest in talented sales professionals who can help introduce their solutions to new organizations and generate meaningful business opportunities.

This is a true outbound business development role for someone who thrives on prospecting, enjoys building relationships from the ground up, and takes pride in creating new opportunities through consistent outreach. Rather than managing an existing book of business, you'll be responsible for opening new doors—executing targeted sales campaigns focused on specific industries, engaging decision-makers, uncovering opportunities, and generating qualified meetings for the sales team.

Every day will involve researching prospective organizations, making outbound calls, following up with potential customers, and introducing a broad portfolio of healthcare products and solutions to organizations that can genuinely benefit from them. You'll play a key role in fueling the company's continued growth by identifying new business opportunities and helping expand its presence across a variety of industries. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys the challenge of cold calling, is energized by conversations with new prospects, and wants to make a direct impact on a growing sales organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute high-volume outbound calling campaigns targeting specific industries and customer segments.
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities through cold calling and prospecting.
  • Engage decision-makers and introduce the company's products and value proposition.
  • Schedule qualified meetings and generate opportunities for the sales team.
  • Research prospective accounts and tailor outreach based on industry needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, conversations, and pipeline progress within the CRM.
  • Follow up consistently with prospects through phone, email, and other communication channels.
  • Work closely with internal sales and leadership teams to refine outreach strategies and campaign performance.
  • Meet and exceed activity, pipeline, and lead generation targets.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in outbound sales, cold calling, business development, inside sales, or lead generation.
  • Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls each day.
  • Strong verbal communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Confident speaking with executives and key decision-makers.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive, results-oriented mindset.
  • Organized with strong time management and follow-up skills.
  • Experience using CRM systems is considered an asset.
  • B2B sales experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience selling into healthcare, government, institutional, or commercial organizations is an asset but not required.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary of $50,000–$60,000, based on experience.
  • Performance-based bonus structure with additional earning potential.
  • Opportunity to join a stable, growing organization with long-term career growth.
  • Supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Comprehensive onboarding and product training.
  • Full-time, permanent position.
