Construction Market
RectorSeal, a leading manufacturer of specialty chemical sealants and related mechanical products for professional trades, is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager for the Construction market in Western Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for driving growth and market adoption of Metacaulk firestop systems. You will work closely with distributors, firestop contractors, engineers, and architectural firms involved in large-scale construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Sales Execution
- Collaborate with the Head of Firestop to develop and implement regional marketing and sales strategies.
- Drive sales growth of Metacaulk firestop systems and exceed annual revenue targets.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities while expanding existing distributor relationships.
- Negotiate sales agreements to ensure profitability and achievement of sales objectives.
Market Development & Customer Engagement
- Build and maintain a sustainable customer base to support long-term territory growth.
- Promote product specification among contractors, engineers, and architectural firms to generate demand.
- Strengthen market penetration across Western Canada by expanding reach within the construction ecosystem.
Channel & Representative Management
- Recruit, onboard, and manage independent manufacturer representatives.
- Provide training, coaching, and ongoing support to ensure strong performance and alignment.
Technical & Educational Support
- Provide technical guidance to customers, either directly or through RectorSeal’s firestop technical team.
- Deliver educational seminars to distributors, contractors, engineering firms, architectural firms, and industry associations.
Market Intelligence
- Monitor competitive activity and market trends.
- Provide recommendations on product enhancements, firestop testing, pricing strategies, and regional market approaches.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling firestop products through a manufacturer, distributor, rep agency, or major contractor.
- Knowledge of firestop system installation practices.
- Experience specifying construction products with engineering and architectural firms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field preferred.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of proven B2B sales success in construction materials, insulation, sealants, drywall, or related industries
- Experience in building, training, and motivating a network of independent sales representatives
- Willingness to travel 40–50% across Western Canada
- Must reside in the Calgary or Vancouver area
- Legally authorized to work in Canada

- Self-motivated, results-oriented professional capable of managing accounts and exceeding targets
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to quickly develop technical knowledge to effectively position and sell firestop products
Work Environment
Office: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an office environment. The employee must be able to occasionally lift and or move up to 25lbs. This position requires computer use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Compensation: RectorSeal has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The target salary range for this exempt opportunity is $100,000-$130,000, CD plus annual bonus incentives.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the CSWI Board of Directors.
