POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support the Product Owner within BDC’s large-scale initiative to replace its marketing automation tools and prepare for a future Customer Data Platform (CDP).

In this role, you will be responsible for analysing business needs, documenting requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria, and be a part of testing and delivery activities across the various phases of the project. You will work closely with the Product Owner to ensure requirements are well defined, traceable to business objectives, and ready for delivery.

The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, is comfortable working with data and systems, and can connect detailed requirements and delivery decisions to business value and impact.

Duration: 18 months

Location: Montreal (in office presence required 3 days/week)

Possibility of contract renewal: Yes

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

Operational data analysis

  • Analyse and document current-state marketing and customer operational data, including key entities, attributes, relationships, and data flows.

  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and risks in existing operational data across marketing and customer platforms, and support the Product Owner in defining remediation options.

  • Contribute to data mapping efforts between source systems, the future Customer Data Platform (CDP), and downstream activation tools.

  • Support alignment of data definitions, rules, and usage by collaborating with data governance and architecture teams.

  • Assist in monitoring and documenting data quality, completeness, consistency, and reliability issues within the marketing data domain.

Requirements & backlog support

  • Support the Product Owner by translating business needs, operational issues, and platform requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation.

  • Help refine and qualify backlog items related to operational marketing and customer data, ensuring they are ready for development and aligned with project objectives.

  • Maintain traceability between business requirements, user stories, and delivered outcomes.

  • Ensure requirements support both short-term delivery needs and longer-term CDP and data foundation objectives.

Delivery & collaboration

  • Work closely with the Product Owner, Technical Lead, developers, data engineers, architects, and quality teams to clarify requirements and validate assumptions.

  • Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and delivery reviews, ensuring requirements are clearly understood and testable.

  • Participate actively in testing activities by validating data flows, reviewing results, and drive user acceptance testing (UAT).

  • Collaborate with other squads to ensure data-related requirements and decisions remain aligned and do not introduce downstream operational issues.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst working with operational data in marketing, CRM, customer, or similar platforms

  • Strong experience documenting business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria in Agile environments

  • Solid understanding of how customer and marketing data flows across platforms and integrations

  • Hands-on experience with platforms such as Customer Insights, CDPs, CRM systems, or marketing automation tools (Eloqua, SAP Marketing Cloud, Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo, etc.)

  • Comfort working with imperfect data and supporting incremental improvements to quality and structure

  • Familiarity with concepts such as data mapping, data quality rules, identifiers, consent, and activation readiness

  • Technical skills such as SQL, basic data querying, or integration concepts are an asset

  • Experience in financial services, B2B, or complex enterprise environments (asset)

  • A strong team player

  • Bilingual (French and English)
