Sous la responsabilité de l’Associé en actuariat, Actuariat corporatif, l’Analyste en actuariat se verra assigné des tâches diverses afin de réaliser les objectifs du Service. Au sein d’une équipe créative et dynamique, tu seras exposé à une grande variété de produits d’assurance et seras invité à contribuer à des projets dans divers autres domaines qui tireront parti de ton esprit créatif et analytique.

Principales fonctions :

  • Participer à la préparation des états financiers et autres rapports actuariels, incluant le calcul du passif actuariel des polices selon les normes canadiennes et américaines
  • Offrir du support à la production de projections financières et collaborer à l’analyse et à la production des rapports
  • Participer à la préparation des données et à la modélisation des réserves actuarielles pour différentes lignes d’affaires
  • Offrir du support à la révision de différentes hypothèses utilisées dans les évaluations actuarielles              

Qualifications :      

  • Baccalauréat en actuariat, en voie d’obtention
  • Réussite d’au moins un examen de la Society of Actuaries et/ou être activement dans un programme d’agrément universitaire (PAU) de l’ICA
  • Connaissance des logiciels Excel, Word, Access, Outlook
  • Expérience dans le domaine de l’assurance, un atout
  • Connaissance du logiciel AXIS, un atout
  • Bilingue français et anglais, tant à l’oral qu’à l’écrit. L’anglais requis étant donné la nécessité de produire des rapports actuariels en anglais pour notre compagnie mère américaine et d’entretenir des communications avec des employés unilingues anglophones.

Reporting to the Actuarial Associate, Corporate Actuarial, the Actuarial Analyst will perform a variety of tasks to meet the departmental objectives.  As part of a creative and dynamic team, you will be exposed to a wide variety of insurance products and will be asked to contribute in various other areas that will benefit from your creative and analytical mind.

  • Position status:            Internship, Temporary 1 role
  • Availability:                   Summer 2027

Primary function

  • Participate in the preparation of financial statements and other actuarial reports, including the calculation of actuarial liabilities for the policies according to Canadian and US standards
  • Support the production of financial projections and collaborate in the analysis and production of reports
  • Participate in the preparation of data and modeling of the actuarial reserves for different business lines
  • Provide support for the revision of different assumptions used in the actuarial evaluations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor in Actuarial studies in progress
  • Successful completion of at least one exam from the Society of Actuaries and/or actively progressing in a CIA University Accreditation Program
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Experience in the insurance industry, an asset
  • Knowledge of the AXIS software, an asset
  • Bilingual, French and English (written and spoken).
    (English required due to internal actuarial reporting to our American parent company and communications held with unilingual anglophone employees.)

Your application must include your cumulative GPA (or a copy of your transcript), the number of actuarial exams completed, and indicate your availability for a summer, fall, or winter internship.
