POSITION OVERVIEW

At BDC, the only bank dedicated exclusively to Canadian entrepreneurs, we support the growth of small and medium‑sized businesses across Canada. As an Analyst in the Business Solutions Centre, you play a key role in helping entrepreneurs move their projects forward by combining financial analysis with high‑quality client support.
Working closely with clients and Account Managers, you assess requests, guide clients through each step of the process, and contribute directly to the success of Canadian businesses while delivering a consistent and professional client experience.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

  • Assess and structure loan requests while balancing client expectations with internal policies and processes.

  • Act as a trusted point of contact for entrepreneurs, providing clear guidance across multiple communication channels.

  • Navigate a fast‑paced environment with competing priorities, tight deadlines, and evolving regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams and partners to ensure seamless service delivery.

  • Continuously update knowledge of BDC products, policies, and financial regulations to provide accurate, compliant advice.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • College diploma in commerce, administration, customer service, or a related field OR Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree.

  • 1–3 years of experience in financial services [minimum experience level required].

  • Experience gathering and reviewing documentation for financial or loan‑related requests.

  • Ability to perform due diligence activities such as Know Your Client (KYC), credit analysis, and review of financial statements (depending on case complexity).

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and French.

  • Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks independently in a fast‑paced environment.

  • High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Availability to work at least 3 days per week on site at the Head Office in the Montreal area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree.

  • Experience providing client support through multiple channels (phone, email, chat, digital platforms).

  • Experience working with loan underwriting preparation or pre‑underwriting activities.

  • Familiarity with financial analysis, credit assessment, or small and medium‑sized business financing.

  • Experience using CRM systems, internal banking platforms, or digital client service tools.

  • Willingness and demonstrated ability to learn new software and use AI‑enabled tools to support productivity and service quality.
