Manage full lifecycle of internal AI initiatives: scope, plan, budget, vendor pilots, risk mitigation, stakeholder communication, governance, and adoption across corporate functions.
The AI Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering AI-enabled initiatives across corporate functions. Working at the intersection of technology and operations, this individual will manage the full project lifecycle for internal AI deployments — from intake and scoping through change management and post-launch review. This role is central to Argano’s strategy of operationalizing AI responsibly and efficiently within a professional services environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Planning & Execution
- Define project scope, objectives, milestones, and success metrics in collaboration with functional stakeholders and technical teams.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and status reports for all active AI initiatives.
- Manage project budgets, resource allocations, and vendor engagements as applicable.
- Identify, track, and mitigate risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
AI Initiative Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact and accountability for internal AI projects, including process automation, AI-assisted analytics, document intelligence, and productivity tooling.
- Coordinate with IT, legal, compliance, and business unit leads to ensure AI solutions are implemented securely and in alignment with firm policy.
- Maintain a prioritized AI project backlog in coordination with the Corporate Operations leadership team.
- Support vendor evaluation, pilot design, and proof-of-concept scoping for emerging AI tools under consideration.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Facilitate working sessions, steering committee updates, and executive briefings on project status and strategic progress; adept at translating complex technical concepts into clear, concise narratives for senior leadership.
- Partner with change management resources to drive adoption of new AI-enabled workflows.
Governance & Standards
- Uphold PMO standards for documentation, project intake, reporting, and lifecycle governance.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of AI project templates, playbooks, and best practices.
- Ensure proper documentation of AI use cases, data considerations, and operational handoffs.
MINIMUM AND/OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 7+ years of project management experience, with at least 3 years leading technology or digital transformation initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional projects in a professional services, consulting, or corporate environment.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience preparing and delivering presentations, executive briefings, and strategic updates to C-suite and senior leadership audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, large language models, or enterprise AI platforms (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI, UiPath, or similar).
- Exposure to AI governance, responsible AI frameworks, or data privacy considerations in an enterprise context.
- Prior experience within a PMO or COO/Operations function.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Project Management Skills: Working knowledge of project management principles, tools, and documentation practices.
- Communication: Clear written and verbal communication. Ability to keep internal stakeholders informed on project status and issues.
- Organization: Ability to manage multiple workstreams, maintain accurate records, and keep project artifacts up to date.
- Project Management Tools: Familiarity with project management software such as JIRA, Smartsheet, or ADO.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues early and bring them to the right people promptly.
- Attention to Detail: Produces accurate documentation and tracks task status with care.
- Escalation Awareness: Understands when and how to escalate issues internally, and communicates blockers to senior staff in a timely manner.
