A strategic accounting transformation leader who combines deep accounting operations expertise with process redesign and automation capabilities to identify high-value AI opportunities, build and prioritize the automation portfolio, establish robust control frameworks, and deliver measurable business impact across the Accounting organization
What You Will Do
- Build and maintain the AI/Automation use cases across the Accounting Organization: volumes, cycle times, touch counts, exception rates, and current controls.
- Convert the use cases into a ranked pipeline with a defensible value case per use case, using the Sophos AI ROI Success Metrics framework (Business Value Created, Productivity Capacity Gained, Cycle Time Improvement, with attribution percentage and Cost of Delivery).
- Work with business SMEs to redesign current processes and control specifications precise enough for a Power Platform builder or citizen developer to work from without guessing.
- Design the exception path: Define what the automation cannot handle, who reviews it, and what evidence the review leaves behind.
- Take control design through review with the Controller and Internal Audit, and hold the production go / no-go conversation.
- Run user acceptance testing with business SMEs and own the hyper care period after go-live.
- Report delivered monthly value into the existing CFO Council and Senior Management Leadership reporting cadence.
What You Will Bring
- Five or more years inside an accounting function (AR, AP, Credit, Revenue, General Accounting, or close)
- Two or more years of experience in building AI Automation using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Copilot Studio, AI Builder, Power BI); has personally delivered automations into production in a controlled environment and can describe the control design and the exception handling.
- Has worked with internal or external auditors on a process or control of change and can explain how the change was evidenced.
- Can decompose a process into steps, decisions, and exceptions with enough precision that a builder does not have to interpret.
- Works across functions without formal authority and can hold a position when a process owner's priorities conflict with the roadmap.
- Experience in SAP, Zuora, or comparable ERP and billing applications.
- Revenue recognition exposure under ASC 606, or month-end close ownership.

In Canada, the base salary for this role ranges from $120,000 to $200,000. In addition to base salary, we offeradditional compensation including bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package. Acandidate’s specific pay within this range will depend on a variety of factors, including job-related skills, training, location, experience, relevant education, certifications, and otherbusiness and organizational needs.
