About AlayaCare

At AlayaCare, we’re more than just a fast-growing SaaS company, we’re a team of people passionate about transforming home healthcare. Our cloud-based platform empowers care providers around the world to deliver better outcomes for their clients.

With 550+ employees across Canada, the US, Australia, and Brazil, we’re united by a shared mission and a strong culture of transparency, growth, and human connection. Whether you're early in your career or a seasoned expert, AlayaCare offers the opportunity to grow your impact, your skills, and your career.

About the Role

As our AI & Automation Specialist, you will sit within the IT function and partner across the organization to identify high-impact, repetitive workflows that can be transformed through AI-powered agents, copilots, and automation.
This is a hands-on builder role for someone who enjoys turning ambiguity into structured, measurable outcomes. You’ll work directly with teams across the organization to uncover inefficiencies, design practical AI solutions, pilot them responsibly, and scale what works. Your mandate is simple but powerful: reduce manual effort, improve quality and consistency, and help teams focus on work that truly moves the needle.
Because we operate in a healthcare environment, governance matters. You will help ensure that every AI solution is safe, compliant, transparent, and grounded in human oversight.
If you’re excited by the idea of combining process thinking, automation, and real business impact, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with departmental leaders to map workflows, identify automation opportunities, and prioritize initiatives based on measurable impact such as time savings and error reduction.

  • Translate business problems into clear outcomes supported by AI-powered workflows and agents.

  • Design and build AI solutions using approved low-code platforms, scripting (Python or JavaScript), APIs, and internal systems.

  • Configure prompts, rules, and decision logic to ensure reliable, predictable behavior.

  • Run pilots, gather structured feedback, analyze results, and recommend whether to scale, refine, or retire solutions.

  • Embed human oversight, escalation pathways, and auditability into all workflows.

  • Partner with Security, Legal, and Compliance to meet privacy, data residency, and healthcare regulatory requirements.

  • Create guides, demos, and training materials to help teams confidently and responsibly use AI tools.

  • Serve as an internal AI advisor, sharing best practices and reusable patterns to accelerate future implementations.

What You Bring to the Team

  • Demonstrated experience in process optimization, automation, or consulting.

  • Experience building at least one AI or automation workflow, bot, assistant, or similar solution.

  • Comfort working with basic metrics and impact analysis.

  • Ability to use scripting or programming languages such as Python or JavaScript.

  • Experience working with APIs, JSON, REST, and data manipulation.

  • Familiarity with low-code or workflow automation platforms.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and structured thinking when unpacking ambiguous business processes.

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

  • A collaborative, service-oriented mindset and comfort partnering across functions.

  • Hands-on curiosity with AI, LLMs, and automation tools.

  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset.

  • Experience in regulated environments, healthcare, workflow engines, chatbots, or analytics tools is an asset.
