About the role

We’re looking for an Accounting Specialist, Group Management Information, to join our Corporate Finance team.

Why this role is important:

As Accounting Specialist, Group Management Information, you will play a key role in producing and analyzing financial information in the Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) and the supplementary financial information report, as well as segment information in the consolidated financial statements. Your contribution will provide key financial information to senior management and external stakeholders, enabling them to assess our financial performance. You will also participate in the transformation of financial reporting processes within a dynamic and innovative team.

Reporting to the Manager, Group Management Information, you will:

  • Prepare quarterly financial information and performance indicators, including supplementary financial measures and segment measures that are included in the Supplementary Financial Information report and the MD&A.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of this information, as well as the reconciliation of non-GAAP financial measures to the most comparable IFRS measures.
  • Contribute to the review of information submitted by the Group’s various regions to ensure the integrity, accuracy and completeness of financial data, as well as compliance with our internal policies.
  • Prepare monthly management reports and the analysis of head office expenses against budget and latest forecasts. Respond to questions from senior management.
  • Contribute to the review of the MD&A, press releases, annual reports and other external documents.
  • Create presentations for senior management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and pursue ongoing automation initiatives to leverage technology tools and improve the quality of consolidated financial information available to senior management.
  • Produce 52-109 controls to maintain a robust internal control environment.
  • Participate in ad-hoc requests and other special projects.
  • Maintain good relationships with internal stakeholders.

Location: Montreal (2020 boul. Robert-Bourassa), hybrid model.

What you bring to the table:

  • CPA designation.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in a similar position.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact with a variety of people at all levels of the organization, including management and external contributors.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change.
  • Strong analytical and summarization skills, thoroughness.
  • Leadership skills, team player, independent and efficient.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage stress.
  • Knowledge of Oracle, FCCS or the implementation of these tools, an asset.
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry, an asset.
  • Bilingualism (French / English) – Need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country.
