Support design, implementation and commissioning of manufacturing automation systems. Assist automation integration projects, material handling solutions, equipment testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and continuous improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and the Automation SME to launch and optimize automation for Smardt's new Kirkland facility.

Hands-on full‑stack internship delivering and maintaining the company’s internal selection and quoting portal. Develop features, ensure scalability, write tests, perform code reviews, integrate with systems (SEPTOR, BI, Salesforce), and support users and tickets while collaborating with engineering, sales, and stakeholders. Role is fully on-site.

Provide regional corporate and commercial legal support for Canada and the U.S.: draft and negotiate contracts, advise on regulatory and compliance matters, manage governance and disputes, coordinate external counsel, support risk management and regional strategic initiatives.

Manage and validate employee timecards, track attendance, investigate and correct time discrepancies, and support payroll data submission. Generate attendance and overtime reports, maintain compliance and confidential records, recommend system improvements, and provide reception and general administrative support including phone, visitor handling, scheduling, and data entry.

Participate in warranty system review, analyze process data, lead investigations into nonconformances/customer complaints/supplier defects, implement Poka-Yoke and CAPA, validate process changes, support supplier quality and documentation control in a manufacturing environment.

Support corporate marketing leadership to maintain brand governance, manage the React-based website and social channels, create visual and video content, run internal communications, coordinate global events/trade shows, track engagement metrics, integrate AI tools into workflows, and manage external agencies and creative partners.

Designs, programs, tests and maintains chiller control software and HMIs; performs commissioning, troubleshooting, documentation, vendor interfacing, communication protocol configuration, project scoping, continuous improvements, and mentors junior staff.

Lead global relationship and negotiations with Smardt's primary compressor supplier to secure capacity, pricing, and rapid response for critical quality, delivery, warranty issues. Coordinate cross-regional demand-supply balancing, risk mitigation, executive reporting, and supplier contingency planning while driving supplier accountability and protecting production continuity.

Lead financial reporting, FP&A, treasury, tax, inventory, cost accounting, AP/AR, billing and collections. Oversee monthly close, statutory and group reporting, audits, tax filings, internal controls, KPIs, budgeting/forecasting, process documentation and automation. Support the CFO on cash management and system improvements. Recruit, coach and manage accounting staff and contribute to departmental budgeting and compliance.

Lead and supervise a mechanical assembly team on-site to meet production targets, quality and safety standards. Manage daily production, train staff, maintain records, resolve quality issues, and support continuous improvement and Lean initiatives.

Manage full-cycle, high-volume recruiting for Dorval and Kirkland manufacturing roles (welders, technicians, warehouse). Source candidates, maintain pipelines, coordinate screenings/background checks, work with HRBP and hiring managers, create job postings, and support onboarding and orientations.

Coordinate and enforce site safety during construction, installation, and commissioning of a manufacturing facility. Manage contractor compliance, conduct hazard assessments, develop site-specific procedures (LOTO, confined space, hot work), perform inspections/audits, deliver orientations/toolbox talks, and drive corrective actions until closure to support safe startup and operations.

Lead end-to-end accounts receivable and credit activities: invoicing, cash application, collections, dispute resolution, credit evaluation, reporting, month-end close, mentoring junior staff, and supporting audits and controls.

Support manufacturing and service operations by improving tools, processes, leak detection, documentation, and product feedback. Develop SOPs, specify tooling, and collaborate with Quality and Production to reduce cycle times and defects.

Supervise daily electrical assembly operations onsite, manage and mentor assemblers and electricians, plan and schedule work, estimate labor/materials, maintain documentation, ensure compliance with technical specs and safety, oversee wiring, testing and troubleshooting, and support continuous improvement and lean initiatives.

Prepare 3D models, detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings, and work instructions; perform design calculations; collaborate with production, quality, and suppliers; manage change requests, specifications, BOMs, and documentation to ensure manufacturable, safe designs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Support the sales organization with order-entry administration, Salesforce data hygiene and reporting, SIOP coordination, and event/trade-show logistics. Ensure accurate sales order documentation, cross-team coordination for order release, and timely reporting to support pipeline reviews and operational handoffs.
