Build and operate scalable full-stack software and AI-powered products for IoT-driven physical operations. Responsibilities include defining technical strategy, developing backend services, APIs, frontend and potentially mobile features, transforming AI capabilities into customer products, partnering across functions, leading complex projects, mentoring engineers, and improving engineering standards.

Lead and develop a Canada Scaled Customer Success team to drive onboarding, adoption, expansion, and renewals via digital scale programs. Own and evolve Samsara’s growth engineering platform, including secure CI/CD, AWS infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code, observability, security automation, disaster recovery, self-service tooling, and progressive delivery. Build AI-assisted SRE capabilities, ephemeral environments, and automated safeguards while contributing to customer-facing backend features. Mentor engineers and improve reliability, security, developer velocity, and operational efficiency across production systems.

Owns the three-statement financial model, monthly forecasting consolidation, long-range planning, executive and board reporting, and strategic financial analysis. Partners with Finance Systems and cross-functional stakeholders to improve planning tools, forecast accuracy, and finance processes. Supports annual operating plans, financial reviews, ad hoc analysis, and AI-enabled finance systems development.

Monitor and analyze security events, lead incident response and employee investigations, conduct digital forensics, communicate findings to stakeholders, build investigation tools and automated workflows, and improve security operations processes. Build and operate MITRE ATT&CK-aligned threat detections across cloud, endpoint, identity, email, and application telemetry. Own the detection lifecycle, advance detection-as-code with Git, testing, CI/CD, and observability, and improve data ingestion and enrichment. Evaluate AI-assisted security capabilities, translate threat intelligence into detections, and partner with Security Operations during investigations and incident exercises. Leads Samsara’s globally distributed Core Infrastructure team, owning strategy and roadmaps across compute, networking, storage, cloud systems, reliability, and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include developing engineers, improving capacity management and observability, strengthening incident response and disaster recovery, building automation and self-service infrastructure, and applying AI-enabled tools to reduce toil. The role requires significant software engineering and people-management experience, strong technical judgment, and expertise in large-scale cloud or distributed platforms.

Manage enterprise customers after implementation by creating joint success plans, conducting executive business reviews and operational workshops, recommending workflow improvements, and helping customers maximize Samsara’s IoT platform. Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Support, Sales Engineering, and Product; mentor Customer Success and Support teams; resolve issues; and drive safety, efficiency, and sustainability outcomes. The role is remote in Canada and requires 25–40% customer travel.

Manage strategic relationships with large fleet customers, develop joint success plans, run executive business reviews and workshops, recommend operational workflow changes, coordinate cross-functional teams, mentor other CS staff, and drive adoption and value from the Samsara IoT platform.

The Director II, Inside Sales will coach a team of sales managers, manage hiring and onboarding, support professional development, and drive a high-performance culture focusing on customer success and team collaboration.

Serve as the primary post-implementation contact for top customers, craft joint success plans, run executive business reviews and workshops, mentor teammates, support French-speaking customers, and advise on customizing Samsara’s IoT platform to drive safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

Design, develop, debug, and test cloud-connected firmware features (C/C++ and Go). Support and scale IoT device fleet, build observability and rollout metrics, triage customer/QA issues, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver production-ready firmware.

Establishes quality metrics, improves regression prevention and release confidence, reduces flaky tests and feedback times, and partners across engineering and product teams. The role also includes AI-assisted testing initiatives, exploratory validation, organizational leadership, hiring, coaching, and developing engineering managers and senior individual contributors.

Design and build Samsara’s cloud governance platform, including IAM guardrails, security controls, compliance automation, and software supply-chain security tooling across AWS and GCP. Develop reliable distributed systems, secure CI/CD patterns, and SAST/DAST capabilities. Contribute to technical roadmaps, collaborate across infrastructure, security, compliance, and engineering teams, and communicate design tradeoffs while mentoring teammates through reviews and pairing.

Build and ship internal data and AI products to help Product and Engineering teams. Analyze large structured and unstructured datasets, convert analyses into repeatable tools and dashboards, and drive end-to-end projects from scoping to launch and iteration. Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly, translate findings into decision-ready recommendations, and embed feedback loops and documentation for long-term adoption.
