We are looking to fill a position for a Workday Applications Specialist in Human Capital Management (HCM) who will assist the talent management and project teams and actively participate in the evolution and optimization of the Workday platform. This person will serve as the subject matter expert for Workday HCM and collaborates with Talent Management, IT, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable solutions that enhance employee experience and organizational effectiveness.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING | THE ROLE

  • Act as a Workday system expert for HCM; configure and maintain Workday HCM modules.
  • Manage and prioritize the work tasks backlog.
  • Define, design, and establish the business needs of the Talent Management team.
  • Actively participate in various testing and validation projects involving Workday.
  • Establish the application evolution roadmap according to business priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with and evolution of the Workday application support model, including governance.
  • Work closely with the Workday Application Specialist for Finance modules.
  • Support the Business Solution Manager to respect the established objectives of the company’s engagement.
  • Maintain Fednav’s Workday account, permissions, and licenses, ensuring safe and optimized use.
  • Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to identify, analyze, and resolve issues.
  • Coordinate and launch bi-annual release processes, including impact analysis of new functionality, testing, and shared process analysis.
  • Support HCM stakeholders by providing training and answering questions.

WHAT YOU BRING | THE PERSON

The ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent mix of education and experience is required; degree in business administration or human resources is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience as an HR technology analyst or integration specialist with Workday.
  • Significant experience and expertise in supporting and configuring Workday HCM modules in at least two of the following areas: payroll, advanced compensation, ATS, benefits, performance.
  • Experience in managing system updates, including re-evaluating testing procedures, validating development/environment, or deploying to production.
  • Good technical understanding of backup and resilience solutions and processes.
  • Rigorous, detail-oriented, and excellent planning skills.
  • Ability to properly document processes, procedures, and test protocols.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to multitask; resourcefulness.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills and proven ability to interact with users at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to simplify technical concepts using user-friendly language.
  • Respects the confidential nature of the information they have access to.
  • *Excellent verbal and written communications skills in both French and English.
