Job Description:

The Individual Insurance and Investments business unit represents close to 30% of all Sun Life Financial global revenue and more than 50% of Canadian earnings. We're a top provider of life, health and wealth products in the Canadian marketplace.

This position works within wealth distribution under the brand of Sun Life Global Investments.  Sun Life Global Investments brings together the strength of Sun Life Financial with the best in asset management from around the world to offer a line-up of unique world class investment solutions.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Work closely with the Wholesaler and the Inside Sales Representative (ISR) to service and manage existing and future clients

  • Provide administrative support to the sales team in their regions by ensuring the smooth operation and execution of various sales initiatives and activities

What will you do?

  • Schedule wholesaler meetings to ensure regional targets are attained

  • Calculate expense reports and mileage logs and ensure approval from the Regional Vice President of Sales on a timely basis

  • Assist Wholesaler and ISR in developing a strategic business plan for the year and review it quarterly with the team to increase sales from advisors in our territory

  • Co-ordinate all events for the region including researching the venue, booking arrangements (food and seating), sending invitations, RSVP lists and presentation materials & kits

  • Ensure correct marketing kits are sent to clients and be familiar with marketing material pieces

  • Facilitate all mass emails to regional clients as determined by the ISR & Wholesaler. The RSA must ensure all emails are checked for quality and that approval has been given

  • Ensure prompt payment through accounting on outside contracts/services with respect to events/shows

  • Take an active team approach, proactively offering solutions and giving feedback for improvement to help promote our products and services

  • Maintain and update CRM system ensuring representative and assistant contact information has the proper email address and phone numbers

  • Ensure CE credits certificates are issued immediately following completion of events

  • Execute promotional and co-operative marketing requests as needed

  • Ensure a strong working relationship between other departments (i.e. Product Managers, Marketing, Finance, IT)

  • Participate and attend sales conference calls and meetings

  • Keep wholesalers informed of their up-coming events, presentations, webinars and road shows

What do you need to succeed?

  • Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada and worldwid

  • College Diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 2 years office/administrative experience, preferably within the mutual fund industry

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (i.e. Excel, Word & Outlook)

  • Completion of IFIC and/or CSC - definite asset

  • Knowledge of Mutual Fund industry - definite asset

  • Previous experience in Sales - definite asset; and

  • Experience working in a team environment

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
