Job DescriptionAs a Voice Designer – For Honor at Ubisoft Montreal, you will play a central role within the voice system, handling voice and dialogue integration while leading and supporting voice recording sessions. This is a 12-month contract position focused on supporting the ongoing development of For Honor, including the creation of Heroes and live content.
This Voice Designer role is both creative and hands-on. It requires strong artistic sensibility, clear communication, and the ability to guide voice performances while remaining efficient, prepared, and collaborative in a live production environment.
What you’ll do
- Design, implement, and maintain voice and dialogue systems aligned with the project vision and scope.
- Integrate and manage voice content using Wwise and internal tools, ensuring consistency across gameplay and narrative systems.
- Lead and actively participate in voice recording sessions, tracking lines and supporting voice direction to meet artistic and production needs.
- Provide voice direction to actors, guiding intention, emotion, and performance with clarity and a respectful, human approach.
- Experience editing voice recordings in a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) such as Reaper or Pro Tools.
- Collaborate with Audio, Narrative, Programming, Localization, and Production to define and deliver voice requirements for Heroes and live content.
- Maintain and document the voice integration pipeline, including scripts and data managed through internal tools such as Oasis.
- Work closely with Localization teams to ensure voice systems are understood, changes are synchronized, and assets are delivered correctly.
- Support Quality Assurance by contributing to voice and dialogue test plans and participating in debugging and polish phases.
What you bring to the team
- Proven ability to work hands-on with voice integration and dialogue systems in games or interactive media.
- Strong artistic judgment and the communication skills required to direct voice performances effectively.
- Experience leading or supporting voice recording sessions, including tracking, feedback, and performance alignment.
- Solid knowledge of audio editing workflows using tools such as Reaper or Pro Tools.
- Familiarity with Wwise and structured audio pipelines; experience with internal or proprietary tools is a plus.
- Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams while remaining organized and production focused.
- Comfort working with international recording pipelines and distributed teams.
- A thoughtful, respectful approach to collaboration that balances creative direction with efficiency and empathy.
