We are seeking a strategic and analytical leader to join our leadership team as the Vice President of Data Analytics. This role will report directly to the CFO and will be instrumental in driving data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will oversee the development and implementation of analytics strategies that enhance operational efficiency, facilitate cross functional insights and optimize customer experiences.


What we're looking for:

  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in data analytics, security, compliance, and privacy, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably within the SaaS or cybersecurity industry.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven track record of delivering analytics-based solutions to complex, cross-functional business problems, optimizing processes, and effectively communicating insights to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen with expertise in enterprise SaaS business models, security, compliance, and privacy functions, particularly during company growth stages.
  • Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, extract business insights, and develop solutions that drive measurable results.
  • Extensive experience in operational excellence, including process and system optimization, scalability, and the development and management of performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with C-suite leaders and cross-functional teams, aligning on strategic priorities to achieve shared objectives.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to present complex and technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences, including senior executives.
  • Proven expertise in leading and sustaining transformational initiatives in fast-paced, complex, and dynamic environments.
  • Strong history of building, developing, and scaling high-performing teams, with a focus on mentorship and organizational growth.

What you can expect:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive  and modern analytics strategy and roadmap. Enhance 1Password’s data maturity, inform strategic decisions, product offerings, and drive innovation and long-term business growth. Help the business derive real time insights to drive decision making.
  • Data Management: Own and manage the data marts  for key business units by ensuring that the data available to the business has been appropriately defined and vetted for accuracy before being released Collect business data requirements,  and collaborate with Data Platforms and Engineering teams to prioritize and execute plans to increase self-service knowledge management and data capabilities.  
  • Performance Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) that are tied to business objectives & implement dashboards that provide actionable insights to the executive team and departmental leaders to make data informed business decisions 
  • Business Partnership:  Develop a team that effectively partners with each business to provide not just the data but also meaningful analyses which includes actively identifying trends, analyzing performance, identifying both opportunities and potential challenges, creating inputs for our financial models.  Each business partner would be a key member of the department’s organization being the main point of contact for all things that require and use data.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with data governance policies and regulatory requirements, maintaining the highest standards of data security and privacy.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong relationships with cross-functional senior leaders to understand their needs, and help them leverage data analytics for strategic decision-making, forecasting, and identifying new business opportunities.  Be the key liaison between business requirements and the data engineering team, acting as the translator between the organization, providing the ability to consume and communicate both technical and business context effectively.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Present data findings and insights to senior leadership and stakeholders, translating complex analyses into clear and actionable recommendations.
  • Operational Excellence: Assess the data analytics department’s current practices, processes, and systems to identify opportunities for improvement. Drive the development and implementation of a strategic plan aimed at boosting operational excellence and scalability.
  • Team Leadership: Build, develop, and lead a high-performing data analytics team, fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.  Responsible for creating development plans for the analytics team and coaching team into a high-performance team.
  • Advanced Analytics: Stay at the forefront of industry trends and emerging technologies in data analytics abreast on industry trends and best practices to ensure that you are implementing advanced analytics techniques, to drive insights and enhance product offerings.

USA-based roles only: The Annual base salary for this role is between $272,000 USD and $368,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.


Canada-based roles only: The Annual base salary for this role is between $246,500 CAD and $333,500 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
