This Position reports to:

Portfolio Manager
 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage the marketing of ABB’s offerings to targeted market segments and manage the offerings throughout their lifecycle, in line with market needs and division/product group/business line strategy and targets. Each day, you will be accountable for the long-term profitable growth of an offer. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting business results by overseeing each step involved in the offer lifecycle including development, launch, go-to-market, maintenance, pricing, and profitability.
The work model for the role is: hybrid
This role is contributing to the Motion Drives team in Canada.
You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Leading the market intelligence analysis and identifying potential gaps in the portfolio, with respect to the competition and new market opportunities.
  • Owning technical and market specification for the offer and determining an offering business plan that supports sustainable growth while leading customer need and value analysis, planning the roadmap to create maximum value, and following-up on portfolio performance.
  • Leading the offer lifecycle management process, analyzing current offers, defining, and tracking performance metrics, and making decisions on offer obsolescence and end-of life to ensure that current and future market requirements are met to maximize their profitability.
  • Support the sales organization in the local market by providing product support to sales teams including trainings.
  • Create demand through technical promotion, providing solutions and a value base selling approach with expert level knowledge of products and competitors offerings.  
  • Setting targets, monitoring offering costs and giving inputs to operations functions (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Production) to maximize competitiveness and profitability.

Qualifications for the role

  • Education & Experience: Electrical engineering degree or electronic college diploma with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Variable Speed Drives (VSD); strong knowledge of factory automation, electrification best practices, and the Canadian VSD/Automation market; familiarity with heavy industries (cement, mining, oil & gas, marine) is an asset.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of PLC, Fieldbus communication, and functional safety; proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform is an asset.
  • Language & Communication: Bilingual (French and English), both written and spoken; strong teamwork orientation with initiative, problem-solving skills, information-seeking attitude, and eagerness to learn. French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis. 
  • Professional Attributes: Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ownership; motivated to contribute and adapt in a dynamic environment.
National role, must be capable of travelling, Business travel 15-20% of the time (Canada, USA, Europe).
