Job Summary

Exegy is hiring a Technical Engineering Lead, C++ for our Montreal office to lead the development of ultra-low latency, high-performance systems used by leading financial institutions. You’ll provide technical leadership across projects, mentor a team of engineers, and shape the architecture and delivery of complex, mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Drive architecture and technical direction for performance-sensitive C++ systems

  • Lead design discussions, code reviews, and implementation planning

  • Mentor and coach a team of engineers; support their technical and professional growth

  • Partner with product and engineering leaders to align technical solutions with business needs

  • Own reliability, scalability, and maintainability of production systems

  • Analyze, debug, and improve system performance in latency-critical environments

  • Contribute to hiring and team-building efforts; foster a culture of technical excellence

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

  • 7+ years of experience in C++ software development, including 2+ years in a technical leadership role

  • Deep understanding of concurrent programming, system performance, and low-latency design

  • Proven experience guiding teams through the full software development lifecycle

  • Proficiency with Linux development and debugging tools

  • Experience in capital markets, financial data distribution, or algorithmic trading platforms is highly desirable

  • Strong communication and collaboration across technical and non-technical teams

  • Fluent in both French and English (written and spoken)

  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment with presence in the Montreal office
