To strengthen our team in Spain, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Firmware Development Team Lead. 

About the role:

We are seeking a Firmware Development Team Lead to join our Valencia R&D team. For this role, we are seeking for an experienced manager. The candidate will be integrated into a dynamic cross-functional team to develop communication systems for Smart Grid transformation, improving manufacturing yields and costs through creative thinking and innovative ideas.

This is a Full-time, Permanent position that requires strong programming skills, a deep understanding of networking protocols, and a desire to develop embedded solutions for cutting-edge networking products.

Responsibilities:

  • Build up and manage Firmware Development Team.
  • Development of embedded firmware for real-time systems.
  • Support Hardware development teams.
  • Specification and implementation of drivers, algorithms and protocols to be integrated in our Smart Grid solutions.
  • Responsible for low-level design, implementation and unit testing of key features in networking technologies
  • Participation in continuous improvement processes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Firmware Development activities.
  • Strong computer programming skills.
    • Good knowledge of hardware and software architecture, software development methodologies, and tools.
    • Good knowledge of C programming and network protocols.
    • Knowledge of low-level programming (OS core and drivers).
    • Knowledge of the GNU tool chain.
    • Knowledge of script programming (Python, bash).
  • Good knowledge of IP networks and communication protocols.
  • Experience with RTOS (FreeRTOS, uC/OS, ThreadX)
  • Knowledge of embedded CPU architectures
  • Knowledge of Linux systems at an administration level
  • Strong desire to learn and develop deep skills in embedded software development for networking products
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Industry experience in embedded software development and communication systems will be an asset
