Dans ce rôle, vous travaillerez sous la direction du Gestionnaire Principal en Fiscalité (Senior Tax Manager), en vous concentrant principalement sur les questions fiscales canadiennes telles que la comptabilité, la conformité, les audits et divers projets spéciaux. Ce poste offre l'opportunité unique de collaborer avec différents départements, notamment l'Ingénierie, les Opérations Commerciales, la Conformité Réglementaire, ainsi que la Comptabilité et les Finances.

Responsabilités
  • Gérer les audits en rassemblant les détails des transactions, en préparant les dossiers de travail et en développant des arguments pour la soumission aux autorités fiscales.
  • Examiner et analyser les données provenant de divers systèmes pour les rapports de conformité et les audits de taxes indirectes inversées.
  • Travailler avec des fournisseurs externes pour faciliter la préparation des obligations de conformité récurrentes.
  • Examiner et approuver les rapports de conformité et les paiements.
  • Examiner les écritures de journal et les conciliations de comptes du grand livre général spécifiques aux taxes et frais dans le cadre du travail.
  • Aider à la conception, à l'amélioration et à la mise en œuvre de processus et/ou de solutions qui soutiennent la détermination, la déclaration et la conformité en matière de taxes indirectes.
  • Aider à la préparation des prévisions de trésorerie fiscale (cash tax forecasts).
  • Gestion des certificats d'exonération.
  • Assurer la conformité SOX et le respect des politiques et procédures internes.
  • Effectuer des recherches fiscales si nécessaire pour accomplir les tâches/projets assignés.
  • Surveiller les changements dans les lois fiscales canadiennes et s'assurer que l'impact est correctement pris en compte et que les changements opérationnels nécessaires sont mis en œuvre.
  • Maintenir un partenariat étroit avec les équipes interfonctionnelles pour soutenir les processus clés de conformité et de déclaration lors des cycles mensuels, trimestriels et de fin d'année.
  • Former et développer les membres juniors de l'équipe.
  • Réaliser des projets ponctuels (ad hoc).
Qualifications
  • Baccalauréat en comptabilité, fiscalité ou dans un domaine connexe, avec 6 ans et plus d'expérience pertinente dans un cabinet d'expertise comptable public et/ou au sein du département fiscal d'une multinationale.
  • Bilinguisme Français/Anglais préféré.
  • Titre professionnel comptable canadien (CPA) ou JD préféré.
  • Solide connaissance technique des lois régissant les taxes sur les produits et services (TPS), les taxes de vente, la fiscalité transfrontalière, les taxes sur les biens personnels, les licences commerciales/taxes sur le revenu brut et les rapports connexes aux autorités fiscales au Canada et à l'étranger.
  • Des compétences exceptionnelles en gestion de projet sont requises, avec une expérience proactive dans l'amélioration des processus.
  • Capacité à prioriser la charge de travail afin de respecter des délais concurrents dans un environnement de travail rapide.
  • Compétences exceptionnelles en communication verbale et écrite. Doit être à l'aise avec les communications virtuelles et le travail avec des groupes géographiquement disparates.
  • Grand souci du détail, avec un engagement envers l'exactitude et la conformité.
  • Expérience des systèmes comptables (Oracle préféré).
  • Expérience des moteurs fiscaux (Tax engine) (Vertex, Onesource, Avalara ou similaire).
  • Solides compétences informatiques et technologiques, y compris la maîtrise de Microsoft Excel.
  • Expérience en programmation Savant, Alteryx, Python ou SQL est un atout.

Lyft is looking for a talented tech savvy Tax Manager to join our growing Global Tax Team!  In this role, you'll work under the leadership of the Senior Tax Manager, focusing primarily on Canadian tax matters such as accounting, compliance, audits, and various special projects. This position offers the unique opportunity to collaborate with various departments including Engineering, Business Operations, Regulatory Compliance, and Accounting and Finance.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage audits by gathering transaction details, preparing workpapers, and developing arguments for submission to the tax authorities
  • Review and analyze data from various systems for compliance reporting and reverse indirect tax audits
  • Work with external vendors to facilitate the preparation of the recurring compliance obligations.
  • Review and approve compliance reporting and payments
  • Review journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations specific to tax and fees within scope of work
  • Assist with the design, improvement, and implementation of process and/or solution capabilities that support indirect tax determination, reporting, and compliance
  • Assist with preparing cash tax forecasts
  • Exemption certificate management
  • Ensuring SOX compliance, and adherence to internal policies and procedures.
  • Perform tax research as necessary to complete assigned tasks/projects
  • Monitor changes in Canadian tax laws and ensure impact is properly considered and any necessary operational changes are implemented
  • Maintain close partnership with cross-functional teams in support of key compliance and filing processes during monthly, quarterly, and year end cycles
  • Train and develop junior team members
  • Perform ad hoc projects
Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Tax or related field with  6+ years of relevant experience in a public accounting firm and/or corporate tax department of a multinational company
  • Bilingual French/English preferred
  • Canadian Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) or JD preferred
  • Strong technical knowledge of laws governing Goods and Services Taxes, sales taxes, cross border tax, personal property tax, business licenses/gross receipts tax, and related reporting to tax authorities within Canada and beyond
  • Exceptional project management skills are required, with proactive process improvement experience. Able to prioritize workload in order to meet competing deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Must be comfortable with virtual communications and working with geographically disparate groups
  • Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and compliance
  • Accounting system experience (Oracle preferred)
  • Tax engine experience (Vertex, Onesource, Avalara or similar)
  • Strong computer and technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Savant, Alteryx, Python, or SQL programming experience is a plus

The expected base pay range for this position in the Montreal area is CAD $88,000-$110,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
