The Opportunity: As a System Administrator I at Vivid Seats, you will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and continuously improving a secure, scalable core infrastructure. Utilizing Microsoft Entra ID as our identity provider, you will drive security initiatives and productivity enhancements through single sign on, conditional access and application administration. You’ll use data to build new cloud integrations, influence policy and configure endpoints via MDM. By proactively monitoring critical systems and you will be able to act upon abnormalities before they become problems. Your contributions to our user lifecycle process will ensure that it continues to scale and deliver a secure and positive experience.

How your role contributes to the success of Vivid Seats:

  • Responsible for establishing, maintaining and improving upon core infrastructure including endpoint management systems, patch distribution systems, Windows servers and automated user-lifecycle processes.
  • Proactively identifies and minimizes adverse impacts to the environment such as certificate renewals and major software changes.
  • Stays current to technology trends and best practices, and can translate knowledge to specific improvement projects.
  • Documents and maintains system architecture through scalable conventions and best practices.
  • Establishes automated methods to reduce operational workload and improve user experience.
  • Works with key stakeholders to harden the environment through security improvements, audits and compliance enforcement.
  • Has a foundational knowledge of network infrastructure, troubleshooting and maintenance.

How your role expectations will progress as a System Administrator I in the first 30, 90, and 180 days:

30 days in

  • Complete new hire orientation, gaining the resources you need to be successful.
  • Learn how ticket marketplaces operate and how you’ll contribute to providing great experiences for our customers.
  • Acclimate to team and company norms, business objectives, and Vivid Seats values.
  • Learn to navigate our infrastructure and procedures.
  • Establish avenues of support and learn when and where to seek guidance.
  • Become familiar with team objectives and how they contribute to company goals.

90 days in

  • Contribute to our approaches, methods, or technologies to support overall business goals and drive team efficiencies.
  • Maintain, harvest and aid internal and external relationships to achieve progress and advance objectives.
  • Have deep familiarity with our cloud platforms and be able to make informed assessments.
  • Develop the ability to respond to and remediate break fixes.
  • Monitor technical operations and identify abnormalities.
  • Become comfortable maintaining and changing our network infrastructure as needed.

180 days in

  • Apply methods to execute individual tasks that positively impacts the team.
  • Play an active role in continued learnings to advance skill sets necessary for team goals.
  • Proactively monitor and adapt to vendor-initiated platform changes.
  • Become comfortable improving upon user lifecycle automations.
  • Investigate misconfigurations, identify improvements, influence process and policy.
  • Work with our independent auditors to answer infrastructure questions and provide evidence.

Vivid Seats Pay Transparency Disclaimer: Full time offers from Vivid Seats include annual bonus incentives; FLEX PTO; mental health days; medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401K matching; monthly credits and discounts for attending live events; and a variety of additional workplace perks. The typical starting salary within the full salary range for this position can range. Factors which may affect starting salary include geographic market, relevant skills/experience, education, and other qualifications.

Salary: $68,000-$92,000

Location: Chicago, IL
