This is a full time, remote Summer Internship that can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada.
Calix is looking for a Summer intern to join our Education Services team. In this role, you will be part of a unique and award-winning internship program within the company. The program provides the opportunity to learn new skills through training and on the job learning. The expected duration of the program is 90 days.
The role of the Success Education Innovation Intern will be to support our team by analyzing customer, prospect, and partner education data, assist with AI-enabled educational content lifecycle management from creation to evaluation and iteration, analyze learner behavior across platforms, assist with our Learning Management Systems, and with other projects as assigned.
The Success Education Innovation Intern must have strong interpersonal communication skills and ideally is enrolled in a Communications, Library Science, Instructional Systems Design, Adult Education, Learning Technologies, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, or related degree program with strong writing skills. This position will report to the Success Education Manager, Course Development.

Responsibilities and Duties:​

  • Analyze touchpoints across our programs and platforms to find patterns for our key customer segments regarding their educational content needs and help develop revenue and mission-generating products and services. 
  • AI-Enabled Content Lifecycle Management: Help create and update Calix Customer Education content for specific personas, including the potential to build mobile microlearning modules, and work with content owners to sunset old material while piloting AI-assisted methods and proofs of concept including assets related Calix Solution Training, AI-Enabled BSPs, and Broadband Workforce Transformation. 
  • Work with a variety of internal departments to update key educational content and extend the reach of current materials into Calix University and beyond. 
  • Assist with administration and optimization of our learning management system.
  • Additional projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Working towards Communications/Library Science/Instructional Systems Design/Adult. Education/Learning Technologies or related degree with an interest in AI-enabled content development strategies.
  • Excel and data entry experience with Salesforce.com or CRM experience preferred.
  • Articulate 360 or comparable development software experience preferred.
  • LMS experience is a plus, including as an end-user.
  • Google Analytics, Snowflake, and other data mining, analysis, and reporting skills highly desired.
  • Team player with the ability to self-direct in a remote environment with moderate supervision.
  • Able to assess needs and offer assistance without prompting.
  • Experience in a role or project requiring analytical problem solving and analysis.
  • Strong communication skills within all levels of an organization.
  • Detail oriented 
  • Able to work effectively in a remote environment with a high tolerance for ambiguity in a fast-changing environment.
  • Microsoft Office software suite experience (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Able to work for the complete summer break (May - August or June - September).
  • Preference will be given to applicants who are currently in their Junior or Senior year of college with previous internship or work experience.

Compensation will vary based on geographical location (see below) within the United States. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's location of residence and multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, and education.

San Francisco Bay Area Only:

21.85 - 27.60 USD Hourly

National Major Cities plus, CA, CO, NY Metro area:

19.00 - 24.00 USD Hourly

Regional plus NY:

17.10 - 21.60 USD Hourly
