We are looking for an individual who wants to get involved and play a key role with us. As the division's Strategic Advisor, your main role is to support the division and its management team in a transformational context. You are a strong, passionate professional who is committed to challenging the leadership team and driving commercial lines into the future. You will be at the heart of the division, working directly with the Vice-President to shape and execute the vision. More specifically, you will be required to :

  • Help define and develop strategic planning and monitoring activities, and track business plans and performance. You help set targets and identify service delivery improvement opportunities, and support the design and delivery of business strategies and solutions in line with the strategic plan of the division.

  • Take on a leadership and influencer role when interacting with the various stakeholders on assignments and projects that involve development and complex, highly innovative strategic initiatives across multiple sectors. In this regard, you help develop and recommend strategic directions and business positions.

  • Bring in a much needed external view of the industry and help the division develop the industry acumen needed to be a top player in the space.

  • Make recommendations on the development and delivery of files and projects with a very high degree of operational and conceptual complexity that require analysis and a comprehensive, in-depth understanding of the business and the organization. Coordination is critical, and you interact with a very large number of stakeholders in a variety of fields. Highly developed interpersonal skills are therefore essential.

  • Serve as an expert advisor and subject matter expert, as well as a resource person and coach for senior management and decision-making bodies.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field

  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience in strategic planning

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Relevant experience with senior management

  • Strong communication skills in both French and English, both oral and written due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with english-speaking partners, members and/or clients.

  • Knowledge of the property and casualty insurance business

  • Strategic and analytical thinking

  • Understanding of concepts related to strategic studies

  • Knowledge in project mode
