Fortis is building games where players truly belong - and our first title, Twilight Towers, just hit soft launch. We’re looking for a Lead Unity Engineer to help take it global. You’ll be the technical heartbeat of the Unity client - dive deep into Unity, architect clean and scalable systems, and obsess over performance. It’s a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll blend craft, architecture, and optimization, to help shape how we build at Fortis.
What you’ll achieve- Profile and optimize Unity runtime performance across gameplay, rendering, and asset systems on mobile platforms
- Architect scalable, data-oriented systems for ECS, animation, physics, and UI frameworks
- Lead investigations into CPU, GPU, and memory bottlenecks, defining baselines and measurable performance targets
- Build and evolve profiling tools, telemetry systems, and diagnostic frameworks for mobile optimization
- Refactor complex gameplay code for clarity, modularity, and performance
- Mentor engineers in Unity performance patterns, Burst/Job System usage, and mobile optimization practices
- Collaborate with design, art, and backend teams to deliver new features that meet both creative and performance goals
- Contribute to the long-term Unity architecture and client scalability strategy across titles
- Deep hands-on experience building and optimizing Unity (C#) game clients at scale
- Expertise in mobile performance optimization, including CPU/GPU profiling, memory management, and asset streaming
- Advanced proficiency in data-oriented design (ECS, DOTS) and multithreaded programming
- Strong understanding of Unity rendering pipelines, Burst Compiler, and Job System
- Proven ability to debug complex, cross-system issues in live mobile environments
- Experience shipping or maintaining mobile or cross-platform Unity titles
- Track record of mentoring engineers and improving development efficiency
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence cross-discipline technical decisions
