- Strategic Roadmap & Prioritization: Create and maintain a clear, prioritized product roadmap for platform features, infrastructure enhancements, and architectural initiatives, balancing immediate needs with long-term strategic goals.
- Internal Customer Empathy: Deeply understand the needs, pain points, and workflows of our internal data consumers (data engineers, analytics engineers, data scientists, data analysts, our teams) to inform platform development.
- Requirements Definition: Translate complex technical and business requirements into clear, actionable product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria for engineering teams.
- Architectural Leadership: Partner closely with data architects and engineering leads to design and evolve our data architecture, incorporating best practices like Medallion Architecture and foundational concepts like Data Contracts, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.
- Technology Evaluation & Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data platforms, data warehousing, data lakes, and data architecture to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.
- Performance & Cost Optimization: Drive initiatives to continuously optimize the performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability of the data platform, ensuring it meets evolving demands.
- Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate platform strategy, progress, and value to a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organization.
- 5+ years of experience in product management, with 2+ years focused on data platforms, infrastructure, or analytics products.
- Strong understanding of modern data architecture concepts (e.g., data lakes, warehouses, lakehouses, streaming, ETL/ELT, etc.).
- Ability to bridge business goals with technical requirements and communicate clearly to both audiences.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with data governance, quality frameworks, and compliance practices.
