Junior SRE Engineer - Site Reliability Engineer
A fantastic opportunity to be working with one of the worlds leading investment banks.
As a Junior SRE you would be joining a growing HashiVault squad as part of the strategy to offer more services and a better user experience to the banks users. The current squad has been running for 3 years and are based in North America. You will be working to implement new features, deal with user requests and reduce repeatable tasks allowing us more time to implement new features.
What will you be doing?
- You will work with the Vault squad supporting Engineering & Operational tasks, ranging from service delivery, automation, DevOps tasks and supporting an on-call rota.
- Working with the Vault squad & wider Technology stakeholders, you will support the continuous improvement of their services through the development of automation scripting and effective observability solutions.
- Enforce adherence to architectural standards/principles, global product-specific guidelines, usability design standards, etc.
- Working with Technology team, you will onboard new tools to support business needs and integrate with the banks eco system.
- Participate in design discissions, code reviews and the various Agile ceremonies to help them produce the best product possible
- You will deliver knowledge sharing across our Vault squad & Data Protection chapter, providing documentation, presentations and internal postings.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience working with Kubernetes
- Experience in working in Linux/Unix based environments
- Operational and Engineering experience in managing applications & services in an enterprise environment.
- Technology security experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with a collaborative approach
Skills that will help you in the role:
- Experience with HashiCorp products such as Vault/Terraform/Consul
- Experience with CI/CD toolchains such as Maven/Jenkins
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, CloudFormation, Salt
- Scripting experience in Python
