Ciena is seeking a dynamic Senior Project Manager to join our Global Services Team. This role is pivotal in driving the growth and optimization of Gainsight, Kantata, Salesforce, and other in-house tools that enable seamless business transactions. As a Senior Project Manager, you will address both strategic and tactical challenges, ensuring the successful execution of data migrations, validations, detailed task follow-ups, and solid use case development. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans and resource utilization schedules for multiple concurrent projects and operational activities.

  • Collaborate with Business Functional Leads and System Implementors to prioritize requirements, estimate efforts, and allocate resources to meet project execution and tracking goals.

  • Coordinate and lead project activities to ensure timely delivery of required functionality within budget constraints.

  • Monitor project resources, tasks, risks, and milestones, implementing adjustments as necessary through defined change control procedures.

  • Manage day-to-day project activities for cross-site teams, assigning responsibilities, setting expectations, and motivating team members toward achieving objectives.

  • Provide input for vendor negotiations and manage vendor relationships within contract parameters.

  • Prepare management reports for project sponsors and develop gating documents to support project milestones.

The Must Haves:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager, with significant Salesforce expertise during this timeframe.

  • Proficiency with at least three of the following tools: Gainsight, Kantata, Salesforce, Snowflake, Zoom, PowerApps, Teams.

  • Hands-on experience with JIRA for user story writing, issue creation, and backlog management, along with SharePoint for project management.

  • Expertise in Agile methodologies, SCRUM, and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe); certifications in SAFe or SCRUM Master are highly desirable.

  • Proven experience managing projects across multiple locations, including global teams.

  • Exceptional customer service, verbal and written communication, and organizational skills.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical abilities, and a team-oriented approach to project delivery and cutover.

Nice to Haves:

  • Familiarity with additional business tools and platforms that complement the role's requirements.

  • Experience with advanced data migration strategies or validation techniques.

  • Background in driving high-impact vendor negotiations and contract management.

  • Knowledge of advanced Agile practices or frameworks beyond SAFe and SCRUM.

  • Expertise in creating innovative solutions for cross-functional collaboration.

Pay Range:
$74,700.00 - $119,300.00 CAD

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission. In addition to competitive compensation, Ciena offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, participation in 401(K) (USA) & DCPP (Canada) with company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company-paid holidays, paid sick leave, and vacation time.
