About the role.
The Sr. Manager, Planning and Trade, play a pivotal role in two key areas of Commercial Finance: this individual will provide the commercial team with comprehensive visibility into volume trends sharing key drivers, and trade activities, ensuring effective accrual management and process alignment to minimize unexpected outcomes and optimize trade investments. This person will drive the standardization of commercial volume discussions, enabling the leadership team to maintain clear, real-time insight into channel performance and better inform strategic decision-making. Additionally, this individual will oversee monthly trade reconciliations, ensuring accurate accruals and early identification of potential risks, thereby enabling proactive corrective actions. A customer-obsessed mindset combined with passion for process improvement and data analytics, will help this individual assist the organization to maximize volume growth and profitability while minimizing risks.

Be a key financial partner to the commercial team-providing analysis, guidance, and financial modeling to support volume growth and margin management. They help interpret market trends, customer profitability, and competitive landscapes to guide commercial decisions.
Analyze the drivers affecting sales volumes, including customer behavior, promotional effectiveness, channel performance, and seasonal trends. These insights help shape business strategy and tactical execution.
Lead initiatives to standardize and streamline commercial finance processes such as forecasting, reporting, budgeting, and accrual management. This individual would play a key role in Planning, Reporting & Analysis supporting preparation of detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual internal reporting, participating in
The role entails ownership of the trade accruals process - estimating and recording allowances for trade promotions, discounts, and rebates. This involves working closely with sales and deductions teams to ensure accuracy in accrual calculations, tracking claims, and reconciling balances monthly.
They conduct monthly reconciliations of trade accrual accounts-to ensure completeness and correctness of financial statements, investigate discrepancies, and coordinate with accounting to resolve issues promptly.
One of the core responsibilities is to develop risk control frameworks to help identify and report potential risks, whether volume (market-based or operational) or trade, (liability or contracts exposure), and proactively escalate concerns to senior leaders, supporting compliance and business continuity.

Compensation Package : $107,600.00 - $143,500.00 . CAD annually + Bonus Eligibility

- Responsible to work with and coordinate spending management across cost center owners.
- Responsible to ensure spending tightly managed, and cost centers not overspent, leveraging data, analytics and financial tracking methods
