About the role.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager, Cyber Security Operations to lead and transform our global SOC function into a modern, DevOps-integrated cyber operations team. This hybrid role requires a balance of strategic leadership, cross functional collaboration and hands-on technical expertise, with a focus on Microsoft MDR technologies, global security operations, and outsourced vendor management.
What you'll be doing.
  • Lead and grow a global team of SOC analysts, engineers, and specialists across multiple regions and time zones.
  • Transform the traditional SOC model into a modern DevSecOps function focused on automation, integration, engineering and agility.
  • Oversee implementation and optimization of Microsoft security technologies, including Defender XDR, Sentinel, Intune, and Purview.
  • Lead the daily operations and strategic relationship of the outsourced Managed Detection and Response (MDR) vendor, ensuring SLA adherence and high-quality detection & response services.
  • Design and operationalize playbooks for incident detection, triage, escalation, response, and post-mortem activities.
  • Align SOC operations with enterprise risk management, compliance standards, and threat intelligence.
  • Develop and track KPIs and metrics to measure detection coverage, asset compliance, response times, containment success, and SOC maturity.
  • Ensure end-to-end visibility across infrastructure, endpoints, and cloud workloads (Azure, M365, hybrid environments).
  • Integrate DevSecOps principles by embedding security tooling into CI/CD pipelines and development lifecycles for risk based logging.
  • Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to improve threat resilience and automation.
  • Provide executive-level reporting and briefings on security operations health, metrics, and incident status.
  • Lead or contribute to global security programs, threat hunting, red team/blue team activities, and tabletop exercises.
  • Develop an enterprise logging strategy for security operations to enhance scale and coverage of critical infrastructure and applications.

What you'll need to be successful.
  • Lead and grow a global team of SOC analysts, engineers, and specialists across multiple regions and time zones.
  • 8-12+ years in cybersecurity roles with 5+ years in SOC leadership or Security Operations.
  • Proven experience building or scaling global SOC operations in hybrid environments.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Defender suite (MDE, MDI, MDO) and Microsoft Sentinel.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing outsourced MDR/SOC vendors, including contract management and quality assurance.
  • Experience integrating DevOps practices and tooling (e.g., GitHub, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines) into security operations.
  • Familiarity with scripting, SOAR platforms, automation frameworks (e.g., PowerShell, Logic Apps, Kusto Query Language).
  • Deep understanding of enterprise security tools (EDR, SIEM, SOAR, DLP, IAM, vulnerability management).
  • Experience with incident response, threat hunting, and advanced attack techniques (MITRE ATT&CK, ransomware, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills with ability to influence technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience working in regulated or multinational environments with 24/7 operations.

Compensation Package : $111,700.00 - $149,000.00 . CAD annually + Bonus Eligibility
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education and training, and other organizational needs.
