Location: Toronto, Canada (4 days per week in office) | Practice Area: Technology & Engineering | Type: Contract

The Role

We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Technology & Engineering practice in Toronto. You’ll play a key role in designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based and on-premise systems that drive operational excellence across large-scale financial platforms.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the implementation and optimisation of DevOps pipelines and site reliability frameworks.

  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues across distributed systems and applications.

  • Work with Kafka, MQ, and AWS to ensure efficient, secure, and scalable data flow.

  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to automate and streamline deployment processes.

  • Drive continuous improvement in system performance, monitoring, and resilience.

What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience in SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) and hands-on technical troubleshooting.

  • Strong understanding of Kafka, Message Queues (MQ), and AWS services.

  • Knowledge of data flow architecture and cloud-based integration models.

  • Experience automating CI/CD pipelines using industry-standard tools.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on collaboration and reliability.

Bonus Points For
  • Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Experience in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

  • Exposure to infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

  • Background in financial services or large-scale enterprise systems.

  • Knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch).
