Sr. AI/ML Engineer I (5911)

As Sr. AI/ML Engineer I, you’ll research, design, build, and deploy machine learning models into production systems. This includes tasks like data preparation, model training and evaluation, and ensuring the scalability and maintenance of these AI systems.

What you’ll do:

• Implement Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) aligned to DoD Modular Open System Architecture (MOSA) standards and government requirements
• Integrate data science workflows into DevSecOps pipelines as directed by the Program Management Office, ensuring secure and automated ML deployment processes
• Design, develop, and deploy scalable machine learning systems and models while maintaining production ML infrastructure across secure government environments
• Maintain ML platforms, model repositories, and deployment tools including debugging performance issues, optimizing training pipelines, and resolving production problems
• Collaborate with government stakeholders through Requirements Review Boards (RRBs), technical briefings, and quarterly system deliveries to align ML engineering with mission objectives

What you’ll need to succeed:

• You have 4+ years of Machine Learning Engineering experience deploying production ML systems at scale in government/defense environments
• You have 4+ years of professional software engineering experience with DevSecOps pipelines, including automated testing, security scanning, and iterative deployment of software systems
• You have 4+ years of hands-on experience applying, implementing, and developing machine learning algorithms for computer vision, object detection, and image processing
• You possess a Bachelor's degree
• You possess an active Top Secret/SCI clearance

SALARY RANGE: $103,000 - $164,000

The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including: 

• The candidate's professional background and relevant work experience
• The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
• Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
• This role is also eligible for additional compensation, subject to the terms and policies of MetroStar, which may include:
• Performance-based bonuses
• Company-paid training and/or certifications
• Referral bonuses
