Responsibilities
Splunk engineer to design, support and provide services for Splunk deployment. Emphasis will be on on-boarding applications into SPLUNK and creation of dashboards.
- Standardize Splunk platform deployment based upon proven best practice methods
- Provide data mapping/assessment services to determine data inputs and sources of machine data to be ingested into the Splunk platform
- Provide services to tweak and fine tune existing Splunk deployments
- Help design core systems performance metrics and troubleshooting logs expertise for customers
- Ability to support and automate processes and procedures
- Ability to assess design models to maximize data ingest and work with performance metrics to fine tune Splunk
- Ability to customize and install apps to maximize visibility throughout the organization
- Ability to create run books, operating procedures, and repeatable processes as needed
- Ability to build custom reports and alerting
- Ability to build custom dashboards and visualizations Qualifications:
Show Us What You’ve Got
- Minimum 3 years Splunk experience in Enterprise environments
- Working knowledge of Linux, Unix, and Windows Operating Systems
- Broad industry knowledge of application monitoring and event monitoring
- Existing Splunk certifications (Architect or SCCI) is desirable
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to help define customer use cases and identify required data sources
- Ability to work in a fast paced, enterprise environment
- Ability to deploy Splunk Enterprise in a distributed multi-regional environment and provide insights into processes to ease deployment of the applications across a large Enterprise systems
- Ability to become a trusted advisor for the organization
