Chewy is looking for a Software Engineer II to join our Purchase Team based in Minneapolis, MN and focusing on our Cart & Checkout customer experience. The ideal candidate has experience with JavasScript frameworks/libraries, HTML, CSS and Java. The Purchase team is responsible for the customer journey across Chewy.com's lower funnel and thus for all the millions of customer purchases. The journey starts as a customer places an item in their Cart and continues down through the Checkout process and includes the e-commerce backend platforms that powers that experience. The team's goal is to create a friction-less mobile first customer experience as we build, learn and iterate on our core and new capabilities.

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

$99,000-$184,500 USD

What You'll Do:
- Design and build new features and capabilities on our customer facing Storefront across Cart, Checkout & Order confirmation
- Write scalable, performant, readable and tested frontend code
- Participate in technical decisions and collaborate with peers
- Review code, implementations and give relevant feedback that helps others build better solutions
- Write documentation
- Provide mentor-ship and guidance for peers and more junior engineers
- Establish strong working relationships at all organizational levels and across functional teams
- Refine our JavaScript frameworks, processes and standards
- Take responsibility and ownership of project timelines and deliverables
What You'll Need:
- 3+ years of experience in Software Development as a Front-End Engineer
- Fluency in JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and other client facing technologies
- Experience with a modern JavaScript framework such as Vue, React, and/or Vue
- Experience with Java
- Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Position may require travel
