We are currently seeking a Site Reliability Engineer Intern to join our Development and Engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to join a rapidly growing company delivering industry-leading solutions to customers in the world's most dynamic and fastest-growing sector.
Performance Objectives
What you'll do as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) intern:
You'll choose from a list of projects a major and a minor project to complete during the term. These projects will have direct impact on the SRE team as a whole, and in some cases direct impact on the company as a whole. Projects may include: AWS centralization, CI/CD improvements, or system migrations.
These projects all touch on many, if not all aspects of an SRE role:

  • Automation: You'll contribute to automating tasks and processes, such as deployments, infrastructure provisioning, and incident response.
  • Performance Tuning: You'll work on identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks to improve the speed and efficiency of systems.
  • Capacity Planning: You'll assist in planning for future capacity needs to ensure systems can handle anticipated workloads.
  • Collaboration: You'll work closely with software engineers, product managers, and other teams to ensure the reliability of systems.
  • Software: You'll write code to progress your assigned project. This code may be bash scripts, python, or terraform. What language used will depend on the selected project.
  • Skills you'll gain:
    • Technical Skills: You'll gain experience with various technologies and tools used in SRE, such as scripting languages (Python, Bash), cloud platforms (AWS), automation tools (Atlantis), Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
    • Problem-Solving: You'll develop strong problem-solving skills by diagnosing and resolving issues in production systems.
    • Communication: you'll learn to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Collaboration: You'll gain experience working in a team environment and collaborating with other engineers.
