Sibelius - Software Test Engineer

Sibelius – Software Test Engineer based in Montréal, Canada – Hybrid

The Sibelius engineering team is looking for a solid Software Test Engineer, interested in helping us continue to build and improve our music notation software. The responsibility of this position is to manually test and execute automation scripts to qualify our Sibelius music notation tool.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform manual testing (functional, regression, performance)

• Work closely with QA engineers executing tests to resolve issues quickly.

• Execute tests, submit defects, bug verification, create test reports.

• Maintain integration and regression automated tests for end-to-end workflows.

• Reporting and tracking issues with engineering to identify root cause.

• Daily communication with the distributed Scrum Team, Product owners, QAs and developers from other Scrum Teams.

• Collaborate with our Beta user community to review and investigate the issues reported.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Expertise in Music Theory and Notation

• Professional experience in creating, running, and automating test suites

• Strong English communication skills, written and verbal

• Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and team development skills

• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and the discipline to prioritize and deliver work timely

• Detailed-oriented, capable of finding the needle in the haystack

Desired Skills:

• Notation, MIDI and/or audio programming experience

• Experience with Agile Development
