About Glean:

Founded in 2019, Glean is an innovative AI-powered knowledge management platform designed to help organizations quickly find, organize, and share information across their teams. By integrating seamlessly with tools like Google Drive, Slack, and Microsoft Teams, Glean ensures employees can access the right knowledge at the right time, boosting productivity and collaboration. The company’s cutting-edge AI technology simplifies knowledge discovery, making it faster and more efficient for teams to leverage their collective intelligence.

Glean was born from Founder & CEO Arvind Jain’s deep understanding of the challenges employees face in finding and understanding information at work. Seeing firsthand how fragmented knowledge and sprawling SaaS tools made it difficult to stay productive, he set out to build a better way - an AI-powered enterprise search platform that helps people quickly and intuitively access the information they need. Since then, Glean has evolved into the leading Work AI platform, combining enterprise-grade search, an AI assistant, and powerful application- and agent-building capabilities to fundamentally redefine how employees work.

About the Role:

Glean is seeking a User Researcher to uncover meaningful insights that shape our AI platform, using a diverse mix of qualitative and quantitative research methods. Reporting to our User Research Lead, you will drive research initiatives that inform product strategy, support decision-making across the product development lifecycle, and champion the needs of our users throughout the organization.

You’ll collaborate daily with product, design, engineers, and go-to-market teams, translating research findings into actionable guidance for teams across the organization. Your expertise will contribute to scaling our research function and nurturing a deeply collaborative, learning-driven team culture focused on creating experiences that resonate across diverse industries.

You will:

  • Drive mixed-methods research defining and executing studies across discovery, generative, and evaluative phases for Glean's product domains, from AI assistants to enterprise features
  • Own end-to-end research initiatives leading all phases from scoping and method selection through recruiting, data collection, synthesis, and delivering decision-ready outputs
  • Partner with cross-functional teams collaborating with product, design, engineering, and GTM to prioritize high-value research that balances rigor and scrappiness in our fast-paced environment
  • Synthesize insights into strategy crafting clear narratives and crisp recommendations that shape product direction, prioritization, and design decisions across the organization
  • Pioneer AI-enhanced research embedding AI tools into research workflows, continuously improving processes and operations while maintaining insight quality and validity
  • Scale research practice establishing qual/quant programs and frameworks, mentoring others who conduct research, and democratizing research capabilities across teams
  • Build foundational understanding developing personas, journey maps, and JTBD frameworks that help teams deeply understand enterprise users and their workflows

About you:

  • Experience: 5+ years in user research with strong record of influencing B2B/enterprise product direction through insights, data triangulation, and storytelling
  • Methods expertise: Demonstrated excellence in qualitative methods (in-depth interviews, contextual inquiry, journey mapping, JTBD) with solid quantitative skills in survey design and analysis
  • Work AI curiosity: Passion for enterprise users, the future of work, and how AI can augment human intelligence — with hands-on experience incorporating AI tools into research workflows
  • Ownership mindset: Operate independently amid ambiguity, prioritizing by user and business impact while thriving in high-growth startup environments
  • Communication: Clear, persuasive communicator with strong narrative craft — able to make complex findings accessible and actionable for diverse audiences
  • Educational background: Bachelor's degree in HCI, Psychology, Anthropology, or related field; Master's preferred

Location:

  • This role is hybrid (4 days a week in our Palo Alto or San Francisco office)

Compensation & Benefits:

The standard base salary range for this position is $140,000 - $180,000 annually. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for variable compensation, equity, and benefits.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package including competitive compensation, Medical, Vision, and Dental coverage, generous time-off policy, and the opportunity to contribute to your 401k plan to support your long-term goals. When you join, you'll receive a home office improvement stipend, as well as an annual education and wellness stipends to support your growth and wellbeing. We foster a vibrant company culture through regular events, and provide healthy lunches daily to keep you fueled and focused.

We are a diverse bunch of people and we want to continue to attract and retain a diverse range of people into our organization. We're committed to an inclusive and diverse company.
